Went here for a birthday dinner with family- got seated quickly as always. Gobi 65 dish was great, cauliflower was crispy and well seasoned. Dosas are fresh made & pair well with chutneys. The chole bhatura was impressive looking, but needed more chole in comparison to amount of bhatura. Paneer butter masala was good in taste as well, spiced well, just took 30+ minutes to arrive as multiple similar orders had been placed. Tomato soup was average. Overall service was quick apart for one dish, food was great. It’s rare to find a restaurant that does so many varieties so well, definitely a strong suit for A2B. Be prepared for fast good quality food, but also slightly on the more expensive side.
Of all the A2B branches we have been to across the U.S. this one by far lived up to the franchise’s standards the most. We had a great experience and devoured the ghee podi dosa with their wide variety of chutneys and more than anything their kuzhambu (sambar) was so flavorsome and authentic to our Tamil cuisine. We also tried their mushroom pepper fries and were pleasantly surprised to witness such a different flavor when most restaurants just go heavy on the ketchup-based sauces when they say Indo-Chinese dishes. If there was one thing that we would like for them to switch up is their Chota Samosas. We were hoping it would be the onion filled Chota Samosas that most people from Andhra and South Indian can relate to, but unfortunately it was just the same potato filling but made smaller. So definitely some room for improvement with those. But even though they didn’t hit the spot for nostalgia, they were still tasty. Overall great food with great service by the staff, Mufti in particular was very kind and made sure to fulfill all our requests with our unlimited supply for chutney haha ???? Definitely a must try if you’re in and around Chicago and are craving a good South Indian food experience.
This was my first time here. Really enjoyed the food and service was quick. It was packed during the week but service was pretty fast. It was worth checking it out. Food was good and tasty. Would love to visit again.
Huge dosai here. Everything I had was tasty with just the right amount of heat. The waiter Rajiv was very attentive. The restaurant feels upscale and clean. Great restaurant period. Will be back for sure.
This is purely based on what I had, may be the other dishes were good, but the creamy tomato soup and Gobi 65 was not up to the mark, it was very bland. Ghee roast and onion rava dosa was decent, sambar could have been better, may be I should try their lunch menu next time!
I visited A2B Indian Veg Restaurant in Illinois on 21st August 2024 for dinner and again on 22nd August 2024 for lunch. Overall, my experience was quite positive.
During dinner, I tried the Jigarthanda, which was okay, but the Veg Thali was very good. The variety and flavors in the thali were impressive, and it made for a satisfying meal.
For lunch the next day, I had the Onion Pakoda and another Veg Thali. Both were excellent—crisp, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. A special mention goes to the person who served us, Mufthi, who was particularly attentive and made our dining experience more enjoyable with his friendly and efficient service.
The restaurant maintains a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff overall were welcoming. A2B is definitely a great choice for Indian vegetarian cuisine, and I’ll be happy to visit again.
We ordered Mysor Masala Dosa, Paneer Khurchan, Garlic Naan and a Royal Falooda. Taste was good not extraordinary and very expensive. Naan was really good.
This establishment consistently surpasses expectations with its wide range of culinary delights. Whether you're in the mood for the comforting tastes of South Indian cuisine, the zesty and spicy flavors of Indo-Chinese fusion, or the rich and creamy dishes from North India, this place caters to all tastes. Personally, I particularly enjoy their thatte idli, neo podi idli, ghee roast dosa, podi uttapam, chole bhature (made from wheat and resembling puri), and the delectable chilli parotta.
While both the South and North Indian offerings are excellent, I find myself especially drawn to the South Indian dishes. The ghee roast dosa is crispy and golden, while the podi uttapam is spiced to perfection. The thatte idli and neo podi idli are soft and flavorful, adding a unique twist to the classic idli. For those who prefer North Indian fare, the chole bhature is a standout with its hearty chickpea curry and soft, wheat-based bhature. The chilli parotta, with its spicy and tender pieces, is also a highlight.
The service here is attentive and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience every time. The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to accommodate special requests and offer great recommendations. The restaurant's ambiance is inviting and comfortable, making it ideal for both quick meals and more relaxed dining.
One of the best aspects of this place is its ability to provide excellent food at affordable prices. Whether you're stopping in for a fast bite or enjoying a leisurely meal, you’ll find the prices fair and the portions ample. With its varied menu, the restaurant offers something for everyone, from spicy Indo-Chinese dishes to comforting South Indian classics and rich North Indian specialties.
Overall, this restaurant provides a satisfying culinary journey through India’s diverse flavors, leaving diners consistently pleased and eager to return. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or new to it, this spot promises a memorable dining experience with its delicious food, attentive service, and welcoming atmosphere.
