While visiting the town of Berthoud for a high school event, we happen to go to A&W on the way out of town and had a great first experience.
The place is not real big and authentically vintage, but the staff are super friendly and attentive and do a good job keeping the place clean and getting customers served. Some tables have the old style telephone to place your order.
Our order came out quickly, accurately and was delicious and the best part was getting fresh made A&W root beer in a cold frosty mug! It even has a vintage drive up and order and eat from your car if you prefer. Parking is limited due to small footprint and being on a corner.
We enjoyed it so much that on a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park we made plans to stop here again on our way back

The subtle thing that I noticed on this trip was the food comes out looking just like the pictures on the menu.
Seems like a simple concept, but many fast food restaurants underdeliver in this area.
It's worth going a little bit out of your way to stop at this A&W and take a step back in time and have a great meal.
Good food and cold frosty mug root beer. Dine from the car, or walk in and eat inside the dining area. Friendly service!

Great price combos, great root beer float with great burgers and fries.
Right at corner of Mountain ave and 8th street, because of its popularity, parking could be a bit challenge during busy hours like meal time.
I likes the double mushroom burger combo, the great beef patties combined with good layers of mushroom.
Their pork tenderloin sandwich had good favor and good seasoning not overpowering.
Texas toast melt was a bit too salty.
I had my first ever visit to A&W a couple of days ago with my family. Food was good and service was great but the tables were dirty and not cleaned after the previous customer. The restroom was poorly presented and no paper towels or toilet tissue. This is unacceptable. It spoiled my visit although the food was great.
It's an awesome place. Nostalgic. Brings back great memories from my childhood. The food was great, and the service was also.
Rating a fast food place is weird. I mean, we've all probably been to an a&w and thought it was fine before right?
This place is different. Every time I visit the food is unbelievably fresh and tastes amazing. I understand the hype around root beer floats now too. I've never had them this good before. Plus the dining room is a time capsule; a mini museum of drive thru history.
One has to imagine that this is exactly how grandma remembers it. Highly recommended.
Come here weekly with a group of friends and it's amazing. The staff are by far the most friendly, talkative, awesome, people I've ever met working at a fast food restaurant. The food as always is amazing and the delicious root beer still is the same exact recipe as it has had for years. Will continue to come here again and again and enjoy it!
Service was nice but the cost was high. $8.09 for this? Very disappointing and a long time customer lost.
