A&W: A Nostalgic Letdown
My recent visit to A&W with my son was intended to be a trip down memory lane. The classic atmosphere of the restaurant instantly transported us back to simpler times. Unfortunately, the service and some key details fell short of recreating that nostalgic magic.
The food itself was average fast-food fare – nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. The bigger disappointment resided with the root beer floats, practically synonymous with A&W's brand identity. We were incredibly bummed to receive them in disposable cups rather than the iconic frosted mugs. This seemingly minor detail significantly detracted from the whole experience we were hoping for – a fun and nostalgic A&W tradition.
Considering the price, which felt a bit expensive, especially since I didn't get a combo meal, the lack of attention to detail was even more glaring. A&W boasts a rich heritage, and their signature menu items like root beer floats should be presented in a way that reflects that legacy. With a little more focus on these small touches, A&W could create a more memorable and enjoyable dining experience for customers seeking a taste of the past.
Our server was very nice during our visit and the food was delicious! We got the papa burger with regular fries and onion rings. Our spicy dipping sauce was really good too! And of course You can't eat at A& W without getting a root beer so I got a regular root beer and my husband got the frozen one and we both loved it. I'm from the south and we don't have A&W's where I'm from so anytime I see one I always stop by for lunch or dinner ???? Prices overall aren't bad, especially when their burgers are really high quality ???? Thank you A&W employees!
Delicious foot long and onion rings and the best part? Yes! A&W served in a glass mug! Yes! Food hot and fast. Definitely recommend!!! Clean, best A&W around!
Very good food as always love coming to a&w, although the manager seemed to be on a power trip to the team members. Very unprofessional even though the team members were taking care of guest properly and being very respectful, but she even snipped at my family member for getting confused.
I have eaten here for almost 20 years now .. until the last few years there has always been exceptional food and service. About a month and a half ago we ordered food for the whole family . When ordering my cheese curds I was asked if I wanted sauce . I added cheese hot . (Which comes hot*) when we received all of our food i couldn't find my cheese sauce until I heard my 2.5 year old screaming because it was in the kids meal bag instead with my food and she got burned! We dropped it and moved on . .. have it a shot today again and the manager on duty today was really rude in general . The sun was in my fiancé's eyes so she closed the blinds . I was informed to not touch the blinds and let them know and they will do it . I understand if we were rough on the blinds but seriously cmon . I can see this lace slowly loosing the charm we once enjoyed ...
Papa burger is outstanding!
Finally! A burger that looks just like it's picture! The fries are delicious and of course that wonderful rootbeer!
This location is kept clean and the staff seem to work well together.
The manager is hands on and interacts well with her team.
Dining area is clean
Tried to order my food. When the price was different than normal, I was told “Jesus Christ just pull forward.” I am not gonna be talked to like that from some juiced up kid at a drive-through window. Probably doesn’t even wash his hands.
This place seems to be very under staffed. And management seems to be really harsh toward their staff. I came in and got root beer and soup and the soup had like no flavor like it was cut with something????. And the root beer I was given was not even full a third almost half of it was foam.
