I came here 2 weeks ago after the Boulder City Car Show. I made sure I came early because the last few times I came during any event in Boulder City , they are always out of the Frosty Mugs and what good is a Root Beer Float without a Cold Frosty Mug. Of course the parking lot is a nightmare during these times , but I got lucky and there were 2 spots open when I pulled in. Of course the dining room was full , but a couple got up just as I got my Float. You put your number on the table and they bring out your food to you.
I've come here several times over the years , many with my son when he was younger , and the food has never been anything special and has gone downhill over the years. I got a Chili Dog and Onion Rings with my Float. The Chili Dog was one of the worst I've ever had. I've had them in the past and they were okay , but not today. The Onion Rings tasted like the cheap ones you buy at the grocery store , not good or fresh tasting , just bland. Also as soon as I put my straw in the float it started overflowing faster than I could drink making a mess on the table. I guess I broke the seal of the ice cream and there was too much root beer and the ice cream started to sink pushing up the drink. I had to get a stack of napkins to clean it up. After I finished mine i did get a Free Refill of the Root Beer.
I love the old decor , the mural on the wall , the giant bear you and the kids can take pictures with. It just reminds me of when I was growing up in a small town in South Carolina. I really only stop here for the Root Beer Float because the quality of the food , even the hamburgers are just not as good as they used to be.
Came here with my wife today cause she loves the root beer floats. It was my first trying this place out asked what they recommend and they said the burger so that’s what I got and my wife got the corn dogs. Our meal was delicious and the float was amazing especially in the cold mug they served it in. I wish I could’ve gotten the double cause the single left me craving a bit more. Really nice atmosphere, we both felt comfortable in there. Would definitely come back and try more of what they have.
I was so happy to see an A&W open at 9 am. I haven’t had it since I was a kid and we were camping. The morning shift is so nice and these are the best fries I’ve ever had. Very unique drive thru! Very fun and cute!! Added to my favorites, I will drive the 30 mins just to eat here.
I don't know if it's me, but this location seems to have something special with the food. I've been to others but it just doesn't seem to match up. It's an old building, but still nice. Give them a try and see if you don't notice the difference.
First time at an American A & W.
We are from Canada and we're a little confused at first because the menu is different.
We have eaten at many A&W locations in Ontario
Canada and the 3 people in my family all agree that this A&W is way better than any place we have tried before.
All 3 were extremely happy with the food , service and how cool this location looked.
Average A&W. Food was decent, restaurant was clean, workers were nice. Nothing that stands out but nothing that was really bad either. I do like that they still have the frosty mugs for the root beer. The building is older but well maintained. Good place for lunch if you are in Boulder City.
This is the only A&W root beer in the entire Las Vegas region. So it’s a little bit of a drive out to Boulder. Unfortunately, the person that served me had a very poor attitude, she seemed be bothered that I was ordering. Sometimes I think employees forget the reason they’re there is for the customer.
Other then the large garbage can with no lid on it , the tables were clean and the restaurant appears to sanitary.
Saving grace was, I loved the root beer float
Has that small town burger joint feel. Nothing fancy but the atmosphere is good. Burgers are great. Fried cheese curds are outstanding. Of course you have to get the rootbeer float.
