Been two+ years since I was here. Has been upgraded and redone inside. Very nice. Employee's were friendly and helpful. Also happy, nice to see. Awesome food of course and root beer was top notch. Will be back again, hopefully sooner than last time.
Ordered a footlong Coney cheese dog got a Coney with ketchup. Very little cheese & chili on chili cheese fries. I'm pretty sure they were mad at me because when I ordered I had said the footlong Coney cheese dog & at the window I was handed a regular Coney dog so I asked to get the footlong like I ordered at the speaker so the worker then charged me an extra $3.49 (of course I never got a receipt for this extra money I paid either, I was so flabbergasted that I just sped out of there), never refunding me for the small Coney dog which was $2.49. So A& W made an extra money off of me. I didn't call to complain because I don't live there & rarely get there, but due to this I'll probably never go back. Workers were nice just couldn't do basic math.
Food was exactly as I expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to answer my question.
Have not been to an A&W in a very long time. It is not as good as I remembered. I ordered the fish and fries. It came with coleslaw. The coleslaw was the best part of the meal. The fish was so small and tasted like Gordon food service warmed up in the oven. Not in any hurry to go back. Also there was an older women working that seamed very grouchy and kind of rude to one of the younger girls working.
It doesn’t get any more old-school than a an A&W root beer stand. Grabbed a combo with a foot-long hotdog with Coney sauce and onions. Some kind of spicy ranch fries with lots of jalapeños. Not very good for me but I enjoyed it.
I worked in food service for over 20 years and am pretty understanding but this experience was terrible service was terrible manager was rude her staff was young and had no clue not there fault hers good leadership makes the difference food was cold and every table was dirty. That being said I would not suggest them or return to this restaurant again would have given zero stars if I could.
Out at Caberfae for a few days, and swung West to enjoy an evening. The whole town was shut down.
The two business in the entire town open before 2100 were this, and a Shell. They had two employees, neither very friendly or helpful. That's okay. There was food, it was cheap, it tasted alright.
Can't say too much about the place, except that if I was in the area and saw any other place open, I would go to the other place.
A&W’s website was celebrating National Root Beer Float Day and promised a “FREE Small Root Beer Float” if you showed off your “Float Flex.”
So we decided to eat dinner at the local A&W in Manistee & get some free floats! And that’s where the excitement ended. They told me they weren’t participating in the corporate promo and when I pulled up the website to show them the promised promo, they said it didn’t go well last year because the owner tried to add a fund raiser to it that didn’t go well so they decided not to do it this year.
How does that work? You’re a franchise of the brand, the website says this is an A&W promo. When you enter your location on the website the Manistee location pops up…something doesn’t add up (other than poor service). So we left & ate elsewhere.
