Amazing restaurant, exceptional service along with great food! Had lunch on the way in and out of Minneapolis.
I haven't been to an A&W for a couple of decades. This one hasn't changed (other than prices). Same old drive in. Same look inside. No drive-through. A nice blast from the past before fast food joints became the mechanized, beep ridden, soul crushing institutions where you only interact with a greasy kiosk some filthy kid smeared snot all over it. I'm looking at you, Taco Bell!
The food was amazing. Easily the best fries of any fast food restaurant out there. I'd be in trouble if I lived closer. Spicy papa burger was delicious with a good amount of spice. It was all more than I could eat in one sitting.
Root beer is extremely good. Creamy and everything it should be. They boast that it is made on site. I'm not sure what that actually means but, whatever they are doing, it's the right way to do it. Far better than other fountain root beers.
I will stop again if I pass through.
Ordered chicken tenders. They were frozen, flat and fried. Not hand breaded like they advertise or have at all other A&W. Save your money
I’m from the old school where drive-in A&W’s were plentiful and a frosty mug of ice cold root beer was just around the corner, so being able to relive my childhood at one of the few remaining drive-in A&W’s in the state of Minnesota was a nostalgic treat! Yum!!
A friend brought me here for lunch and it was really delicious and the root beer float was really good. The inside dinning was very clean and the bathroom too.
The food was average drive in food, at best. The chicken strips were flat/thin, pre-formed, and not very tasty. Fries were meh, didn't care for them. My co-worker said he always gets them but has to have a cup of melted cheese to eat them. The onion rings were the highlight of my meal, very tasty, and the right amount of crunch without being overcooked.
This was my first and probably last trip to any A&W drive up anywhere I've ever been. Not worth the high prices they charged...
Road trip got us in a nostalgic mood and a pit stop to an A & W drive-in was the fix. Standard fast food menu of burgers, dogs and chicken strips and sandwiches. My Papa burger came with double beef patties, lettuce, cheese, tomato and pickles. A side of cheese curds was a plus as they were hot, cheesy and gooey. Food came quick and hot. The only drawback was the room temperature root beer that came with no ice.
It's an A&W, food is the same everywhere, but the service was great, loved the QR scan and order, and I love an old school drive through. I wish there were more like this elsewhere.
