A & S Bagels is a bagel lover’s paradise—and the long lines at the cashiers and even an on-site ATM are a testament to its popularity. This unassuming spot combines efficiency with quality, making it a go-to for locals and bagel enthusiasts alike.
We pre-ordered three dozen assorted bagels by phone, ensuring a seamless pick-up experience. The bagels were fresh, chewy, and had that perfect New York-style texture that only a seasoned bagel maker can achieve. Alongside, we grabbed their cream cheese and cream cheese with lox, both of which were creamy, flavorful, and rich—an absolute treat. The lox was particularly fresh and perfect for our friend, who’s a fan of its briny, smoky goodness.
The deli counter is well-stocked with premium Boar’s Head products, and their shelves are filled with everything from spreads to beverages, making it easy to build the perfect bagel spread. Plus, the festive decor and friendly staff made the visit feel warm and welcoming.
If you’re in the area, A & S Bagels is worth the stop, whether you’re stocking up for an event or craving a classic bagel and schmear. Pro tip: Call ahead if you’re ordering in bulk—it’s worth the time-saving convenience!
The lox and cream cheese on Bialy was fresh and well prepared. Great service. The lady who assisted us in getting everything done did a great job. All the counter employees were terrific. It was such a clean place. It looked great from the outside, and when I stepped foot inside, I liked it more because everything was so organized and easy to see and buy. They prepared a few fresh cream cheeses for customers and placed them in a fridge. I grabbed the cinnamon raisins and walnuts, and Hubby grabbed salmon and cream cheese from the refrigerator. Then we ordered a few bialys. We didn’t just grab and go, but we paid for them, of course lol. I highly recommend the place for the cinnamon raisin walnut cream cheese. They made the best at this place. I also liked the spinach pie. The salmon cream cheese I could do without.
I grew up eating these delicious bagels every weekend. Unfortunately the quality has drastically changed for the worse. The bagels used to be warm and soft and absolutely the best on Long Island… not so much anymore. They are hard and too thick.
This is what they call an egg and cheese bagel. Little to no cheese and drenched with ketchup.
I paid 6.25 for this. They don’t even try anymore. Place has gone downhill
Customer service is extremely rude. They cut you off while you’re still ordering and they don’t even know what’s in their sandwiches. Halfway into making them then proceeds to tell us they’re out of part of the ingredients to make it. We said it’s fine but then still charges you full price for the sandwich.
A&s has changed the quality of there bagels from what I have seen at least the plain bagels are frozen dough bagels that are brought in not made in house, I got a order of veg cream cheese this morning and it was frozen solid as well. Bagels are looking like Thomas premade bagels from grocery store.
I ordered 10 bagels and a small scallion cream cheese. I didn’t see the cream cheese in the bag and asked the lady where it was. She advised that it was inside the brown bag of bagels. I got home and there is no cream cheese! Please check your order and change. This place seems very dishonest.
Best bagels on Long Island not cause I live close....it's cause I used to come here 30 years ago when I lived in Queens as well
Cash is king here & love it
Egg everything with egg salad or chicken salad will always put a smile on your face and a full belly and not empty your pockets
