Best WLM Reviews

This is the second time I went to A Baked Joint (1st time was just last month). Their food is delicious. Coffee’s are very good. This time,
I tried their BLT and added avocado (that really hit the spot). My wife had a salmon with cream cheese (that was good too)
We also got a chocolate muffin and a pumpkin muffin (pumpkin was much better ???? although I admit pumpkin bread is one of my favs)
If you get a cappuccino you probably want to get 2 of them as they are smaller in size but the coffee is definitely better than most other coffees.
I ordered the NC Country Ham(but instead of ham I asked for tomatoes), and it was awesome! The taste of the cheese combined with it was fantastic. Highly recommended! I also loved the atmosphere—it was cozy and welcoming. The sweets looked amazing, and I hope to come back soon to try them!
Was in DC this weekend, needed a breakfast, googled and selected at random (as we do) and my lord did I hit the jackpot, this place is INCREDIBLE. I don't know who owns this place or who put this great thing together but I'd like to shake their hand and ask for a job. There was a line, but it moved fast, if anything it was more time to look around. The space is beautiful. Dried flowers? Pastries? Neat tables and classy little jams? Great menu- breakfast became brunch when I saw their sandwich selection. Everything we got was of the highest possible quality, from the bread in my sandwich, the poach of my egg, to the matcha in their matcha latte. Details! Make such a difference, this place didn’t overlook a thing. It truly feels like a loss going back to the city. I'd like to request they do me a solid and open locations in new york and Seattle, at their earliest convenience, but as quickly as possible. Just really, amazing.
I went to a baked joint to try their bacon cheddar biscuit with egg. I ordered for pick up so I didn’t stay too long. The line was out the door with 20 to 30 people there. I’m happy I ordered pick up. The sandwich was great. Probably the best biscuit I’ve had in a while. I sat inside waiting for my food next to the kitchen, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness on their kitchen.
The pastries at this bakery are excessively sweet, lacking the desired complexity of flavor. Introducing more flavors like acidity and bitterness would improve the offerings. Scones, which could've saved the day, are sold only on the weekends. However, the service is fantastic, with personal and thoughtful recommendations. The coffee selection, while limited, features unique and complex beans. The seating is comfortable. During weekdays, the noise level is minimal, making for a pleasant atmosphere. However, on weekend mornings, the employees constantly yell customer names and orders ("ANGIE!!"). This practice abolishes any chance of conversation or quiet enjoyment.
A Baked Joint is one of my favorite brunch spots in DC. The process is straightforward: you order at the entrance and pick up your food at the counter. Despite being busy, I’ve never had to wait for a table—there’s always room to sit.
I ordered the smoked salmon with scallion cream cheese, tomato, fried capers on an open-faced baguette, and added a fried egg. My mom chose the Fig Goat Cheese with fig jam, crumbled goat cheese, honey drizzle, and a side of avocado. Everything came quickly and was delicious.
I read the reviews and they’re impressive so I decided to give A Baked Joint a chance. The decor and layout of the restaurant is well laid out and flows easily. You place your order at the counter and they give you a number for your table, sit down and they bring the food to you.
I ordered the BLT with a Chocolate Croissant, the portion size of the BLT was nice but that they make up for in portion size, they lack in flavor. I will say that the sandwich was nice and the ingredients seemed fresh but it was somewhat bland. The Chocolate Croissant was decent but again it lacked the flavor you’re used to with a bakery that makes Croissants.
The atmosphere is very loud and it’s difficult to hear the person in front of you unless you’re talking loud and this is when they’re busy. The customer service was decent and the cashier was honest about a cinnamon rolls not being a good recipe. I appreciated that honesty so much! Overall, nice restaurant for those that enjoy “simple cooking, well done” as their motto goes.
We like this charming place, our go-to spot for good coffee and freshly baked treats. The atmosphere is delightfully bright, with plenty of seating options. You'll be spoiled for choice with their delectable selection of baked goods and savory fare, all prepared well with care in their kitchen. The staff are good, always greeting you with a warm smile and eager to make your experience memorable. It's easy to see why this place is our favorite - it's simply the best!
