We got the potato skins... not bad... some salt was needed... it was served with sour cream.. I think ranch would have complimented it better... my wife got the wedge salad.. she didn't have much to say about it.. but she didn't hate it... the dressing came in handy later.. my wife ordered the NY strip... medium rare with a dressed baked potato it was cooked beautifully... only problem we had was it wasn't seasoned with anything...at one point she was dipping the steak in the salad dressing. (don't get me wrong..I love the taste of beef.. but salt and pepper is the absolute minimum to put on a steak before grilling) my wife asked for some A1 sauce to help out... I just added some S&P. She alsogot the baked mac and cheese with bacon... also barely any flavor... I ordered the steak tips and chicken fingers combo... when I say that those steak tips were so tender and jucy as well as flavorful.. the chicken fingers were also as the NY Strip.. unseasoned.. I don't understand what Vermont has against seasonings... the French fries were good.. home cut (with the skin on) like I like them... we asked for BBQ sauce for the chicken and got a small bowl of what we believe was Hinez 57 sauce.. (didn't help at all) I'm not upset...just disappointed... I had such high hopes for the strip steak... I will not write this place off... (the steak tips were that good)
I really like this place. However, I gave it a three for the food, because the cheddar cheese and broccoli soup was barely warm. The waitress did offer to replace it, but I didn't want to cause any extra work. The waitress was kind enough to check with her boss, without me even asking, and they removed the cost of the soup from my bill. I also found an error on the bill, pointed it out to the waitress and it was removed immediately. Now, even with all of that it was great customer service and very good food. My husband's fish and chips dinner was wonderful. The Caesar salad that I had was very good, and if the soup had been hotter it would have been delicious.
The waitress was wonderful, by far the best we have had in nearly a week visiting the area the last several days. She showed kindness, knowledge and attention to detail in assuring that I got food that was dairy free. That was much appreciated! Unfortunately, the food itself was rather bland. Perhaps because it was the first chain food after several days of eating Vermont's independent, locally-focused fare. PS We did enjoy the popcorn before the meal ????
We stopped here for dinner while traveling thru New England. Our waiter was very attentive & friendly. The prices were reasonable. My hamburger was prepared perfectly & my husband liked his chicken wrap. They were playing a trivia game in the lounge which added some fun, but wasn't too loud or bothersome. I reccomend this 99 Restaurant.
Relaxed atmosphere. Loved the steak tips, otherwise most of the remaining food was ok. Didn't like the broccoli and I love vegetables. Server was friendly. silverware and napkins left in a pile on table. Water with lemon provided if requested. Floor was slippery with grease near restroom. More elbow room would be appreciated. Once we paid the bill no one returned to the table even though we remained for some time after. I would have liked dessert after sitting there a while but never saw any server return to the space.
Typical Diner feel. Food is good but our waitress was having a bad day. We waited at the door for 5mins, saw she walked in and out, zero greeting. A guy sat us down, we waited another 5mins for the waitress to come. She showed her unhappy gesture and disappeared until we called for the check. She needs training…
The bartender/server was awesome. She loves her job and her customers and it shows. She remembered us from a previous visit and is very inviting. Food was delivered fast and hot! Her area is clean and cared for.
This woman is an asset to your business!
Good food and good prices but don't get the asparagus over cooked and dried out
