I've been a big fan of 99 Restaurants for years. My ex-boyfriend and I used to frequent the ones in Orange and Stratford, CT and never had a bad meal or service.
One of my friends and I got together yesterday for a little shopping and when I mentioned something about 99, she said we could go there. I'm so glad she did. It's been years since I was there, but was still just as delicious as I remembered. Our server was Taylor. She was Goldilocks level attentive- just right. And she was rocking one of those 90s tattoo chokers which are always in fashion IMHO.
There was no wait on any aspect, surprising but happy for us! I had my favorite thing from there, the honey BBQ chicken wrap, thrilled to have it still be on the menu. They even serve Pepsi over Coke which is always a win in my book!
I definitely want to come back again someday soon!
Food was delish! If your willing to sit at bar and ear then you get right in. Other than that it's an hour wait. Food is so good!!! And you get a lot!
Basically a diner that serves a number of fish dishes. Which leads to my 3 stars for atmosphere. The fish smell was overwhelming !!
The food was excellent and the waitress service was exceptional. They just need to get an aeration system that removes the fish smell and they'd be 5 star all the way.
The food is very good. I had a cheeseburger and fries. The employees are not that bad but other than everything else this place is very nice.
Hard to find places like this. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great variety and most importantly, fantastic food! I haven't lived in this area for too long but long enough to know some of the local favorites. 99 definitely falls into that category. Usually I pick and buy what I'm familiar with, as to avoid disappointment due to myself being horribly picky. However, very rarely, I'll come across a restaurant that supercedes expectation. Which can lead me to feel that I'm in a comfortable enough position to open myself to a much broader selection, knowing there's very little chance of being let down. I've been to this restaurant a couple times now and have tried various dishes and desserts and I can honestly say that I haven't come across any distasteful visits. It's a rather pleasant surprise for sure. At the moment my favorite are the steak tips. By far best steak I've had in the area, and I'm sure most will agree. 10/10
One of the better sit down chain restaurants in New England. The service is always good, the food always consistently excellent. They have a kids menu with the usual fare. This chain offers great value.
Took my girl on a date here and wasn't disappointed. Would have asked for a bit more cheese on our nachos but we did request half the toppings off. Staff was nice and friendly but I do think the food could have been a tad bit better.
Charles is an awesome.bartender. personable and polite. Takes the words if you have time to lean you have time to clean to heart. His bar is spotless. Thanks for having us.
