We stopped in for a quick lunch. Lots of workingmen sitting inside, which is a good sign. The portions are huge, but so the prices . the food was OK and there’s plenty of it. If you get a burrito be sure to get some salsa because it was kind of dry. Plastic, cheap, fork and knife provided. Rec bringing your own. The bathroom was true south of the border: throw the toilet paper in the trashcan. We won’t be rushing back.
PS, my leftover burrito was better reheated the next day.
Unfortunately, i had a unpleasant experience.
Too expensive for what i ordered. Asada meat had little flavor, it was dry, and too simple. The place is too old, no AC available,and definitely requires maintenance. My first visit was during breakfast time, and the food was great.
I think they need to pay more attention.
This is the first California burrito I've had in my history of 17 years eating California burritos in California, where it was 90% rice and beans inside and 10% meat and french fries. And $16? The monsters at Roberto's are full of meat and fries, cheese and sour cream for $10. What the heck is going on up here in Big Bear?
I'll start my saying that I always get the bean and cheese burrito when trying out a new place, if you can mess that up then you need help!!
This simple bean and cheese is damn good!! I will say that it could be bigger but that's not a good enough excuse not to get it, lol... Price wise it's up there but you are in Big Bear and you're gonna pay a little more... The green sauce is awesome, not spicy so if your looking for heat ask I'd they have something hotter.
Definitely coming back to try more items...
Food was good, had great flavor. The salsas, red and green, are fire. They both taste very good and are spicy. My son got a mini chicken burrito. We also ordered a chicken burrito and a sope with chicken. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Here on vacation and I loved this small taqueria.
We stopped here to grab a bite to eat between activities. Being Covid times that meant eating in the car, but we didn't mind. We ordered inside because we didn't realize they had a drive thru window.
Super clean inside with a plastic partition for safety. Lots of space to wait inside because all the tables were pushed to one side, but we waited outside. Food was hot, fresh, and lots of it. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you got. Really enjoyed the rice, so fluffy!
We got the carne asada fries, a chicken quesadilla, and al pastor tacos and of course the rice. Way too much food for us and we probably shouldn't have gotten fries at a Mexican place but the tacos were yummy! Nice staff and fast for freshly made items.
Went here after a road trip from LA. This was our first stop & we're very glad we came here! We did not expect very good Mexican food in Big Bear but this definitely hit the spot. Is it the best? Not exactly but if I'm ever in the area, I'd be happy to come here again & try more items.
The food is great. Staff is serious. Could smile a little more. And it feels too quiet. They could use low volume music, just for make it a pleasent ambience.
