Best WLM Reviews
I recently tried the walleye sandwich paired with tater tots, and it was a great choice. The walleye was fresh, perfectly cooked, and had a light, crispy batter that complemented the flaky fish inside. The sandwich was served on a soft, toasted French bread/bun with a good balance of toppings, though I would have liked a bit more sauce to enhance the flavor.
The tater tots were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, offering a satisfying crunch with each bite. They made for a great side and were seasoned just right—not too salty, but still flavorful.
Overall, it was a solid meal, especially if you’re looking for a comforting and classic option with a bit of local flair. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a good fish sandwich!
Excellent food and attentive service!
We visited 8th Street Grill for dinner in Aug 2024 during our flight layover in Minneapolis. Based on reviews and location we expected an ok American fair at best. However, the restaurant surprised us by an excellent food quality, absolutely amazing salmon baked on cedar plank, and our waitress Christine with whom we had an interesting conversation about literature! This visit turned into an experience rather than just a food stop. Thank you, Christine!
We certainly recommend 8th Street Grill if you are in the area!
Appetizers
Cheese Curds - fresh and yummy
Cesar salad
Entrees
Cedar Plank Salmon - this was a masterpiece! It was fresh, juicy, and literally melting in the mouth! It was more like a Chilean seabass with no hint of dryness. The spices and brown sugar glaze gave it an amazing delicate flavor. This was certainly one of the best salmons I ever had!
Cajun Seared Salmon - this one was delicious as well and salmon was fresh, juicy, and flavorful
Chicken Sandwich with Pepper Jack and Avocado - excellent. My son finished it in no time.
Chicken Tenders - good quality chicken tenders according to my daughter :)
Our server was super busy, but she was very kind and never missed anything. The food was delicious. I got the club and it was perfection, the fries were hot and crispy and it’s the good ranch (Tokyo) 10/10 recommend this place if you’re looking for some amazing casual, filling, comfort bar food.
Cozy place with a local vibe. The waitress was very kind and helpful. The dishes were also great, as you can see them on the attached picture. Their burger and the blueberry beer are highly recommended.
A Delightful Dining Experience at 8th Street Grill Taphouse!
I recently enjoyed dining at 8th Street Grill Taphouse, and I can't recommend it enough! I ordered the Walleye Dinner, and it was simply outstanding. The walleye filet was perfectly breaded and deep-fried, offering a delightful crunch while maintaining its tender, flaky texture. It was served alongside a flavorful rice pilaf and a medley of fresh mixed vegetables, which complemented the fish beautifully.
The service was top-notch—attentive without intrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The staff takes pride in their work, demonstrated by their warm demeanor and excellent recommendations.
The atmosphere at 8th Street Grill Taphouse is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The decor strikes a nice balance between rustic charm and modern comfort, creating a relaxed environment that enhances the dining experience.
If you're looking for delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend 8th Street Grill Taphouse. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!
Plenty of TVs, average service, slightly below average food, and very good draft beer selection. Cobb salad featured just 3/4 of an egg. And Tachos had low quality cheese.
Great service and spectacular burgers and salads.

Thanks, 8th Street Grill.
Went to the 8th Street Grill for dinner with some friends and family and I was not let down. Started off with a Royal Blueberry from Pryes, which was perfectly fruity and very refreshing. I ended up getting an appetizer for my entree as I wasn't very hungry, but the Cedar Plank Salmon was some of the best salmon I've ever had. The sweet brown sugar glaze paired wonderfully with the herbed crostini. My father got the Cajun Pasta and he had nothing but praise for it as well! The service was wonderful and we were able to grab an entree for takeout as well with absolutely no fuss.
