This facility is embarrassing. To say this is the best we can support Military and Veterans is a disgrace.
Their hours are inconsistent, you have to check Facebook to see changes. The lines and wait times are ridiculous.
If I had ANY other option, I was elect to use it.
Their appointment takes at least a month to schedule. Their pharmacy isn't organized at all. Getting a simple referral from them is the most frustrating experience ever. Also, all the doctors and staff are very dismissive. If you can go anywhere else but them. Worst med group ever.
Absolutely worthless. They stopped having Sick Calls in the morning. Every appointment is booked out a month and a half in advance.
You’re better off going to Deborah Heart and Lung’s Emergency Room to get any illness or injury looked at. I got bloodwork done at Deborah and a doctor said that if I waited an extra month and a half for an appointment with 87, I would have straight up DIED from the illness I ended up being diagnosed with.
EDIT: WORSE than worthless. They’ve instructed Deborah to stop giving out doctor’s notes for injured servicemembers to prevent their chain of command from forcing them to conduct physical activities. 87th medical is now actively interfering with the medical wellbeing and safety of the active duty servicemembers under their “care”.
Whoever is in charge of writing policies like this and cancelling Sick Call in this medical institution should be relieved of command. 87th Medical is a disgrace to the medical community and the Armed Forces.
What happened to professional & courteous? Most of the time the person answering the pharmacy phone sound unpleasant or robotic. If you don't like your job quit (civilian) or crosstrain...
Captain Patrick is horrible. I’ve been going to med group since last year about my severe depression and anxiety, the first time I went to him about my issues he told me that I should come back in 2 months to see if I still feel the same and then told me to go to a class for anxiety/ time management. I came back 2 months later, and said i was still feeling the same actually worse and he said he couldn’t give me any medication, mental health would do that. So i booked an appointment with mental health which I had to wait even longer to be seen, and when i finally got an appointment speaking to someone about this MONTHS LATER they told me that he (my PCM) is the one thats supposed to prescribe medication. Luckily I got seen by a different doctor and no longer have issues. If Captain Patrick is your PCM do not go to him, he really could care less.
We have been at JB MDL for 8+ years now. This clinic is the WORST military treatment facility that I have ever been to. They cancel your appointments at the last second. Don’t even bother going if you are going to be late. The dr can be as late as they so please but if you are late, forget it. I just walked out of an appointment at 10:03 that was scheduled for 9:40 and the dr was with me for less than 3 minutes! I am appalled at the lack of caring and compassion in this facility! They didn’t even take a medical history, height, weight or BP! You might want to update your will if you are getting stationed here because if you have a chronic illness, all I can say is GOOOD LUCK!!
Edit to add one day later: My kids had appointments scheduled on the same day at the same time but they scheduled them with different providers. My older child is one month shy of 18 and they still wouldn’t allow me to leave the room when they were ready for my other child’s appt. Now I have to reschedule another appointment. How much more inconvenient can this place get for patients?
So bad. Legitimately negligent to people with medical issues. I tried to make an appointment because I am spitting up blood and I was told that its just irritation, no need to make an appointment (all over the phone). This facility needs an investigation because they are ignoring possibly serious medical issues. THEY TRYNA KILL YOU AND LIE ON YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS!! Captain Patrick is a negligent PCM and a genuine liability to this med group. Just a matter of time before he gets someone hurt.
This is equivalent to an urgent care but there's never availability for anything so be prepared to go somewhere else
