Stopped in on a foggy morning and ordered 2 Western Omelets and a hot cup of coffee to go. Staff is super friendly, professional, and helpful. Got our order in about 15 mins in spite of a full restaurant.
The Omelets were flavorful, full of freshly diced veggies and ham. They came with a nice blended salsa and 2 slices of buttered toast. Everything was delicious!
The coffee was not good. The only complaint we could make. We went next door and got coffee from Love's. Might have been a bad pot, but it tasted chemically.
Anyway, highly recommend the breakfast menu here. We'll be back to try lunch our next time through town.
After the last restraunt we ate at this Waitress on Top of Game. We never had to ask for anything she was Great and made sure our drinks were full we had all our silverware and napkins. Never had to flag her down. Cute place to eat dinner. Food was ok but at least they were open for dinner. I would say drop by this place and check it out.
87 was a suggestion by 2 other people in town so we had to check it out and we were so happy we did! The extra fried catfish was incredible! A deep fried Veggie basket was filled with okra, Mozzarella sticks, onion rings amd other tasty items. Angel served us with a smile and a few funny stories about the town of Clayton. The restrooms were very clean as was the whole establishment.
87 was delicious! The outdoor patio was huge and iconic in its decoration for the SW.
We enjoyed our time off the road at 87 and think you will too!
Thanks 87 for a great meal!
I stopped in for breakfast after leaving Denver early that morning. I always like to try the local breakfast spots as they usually have the best food. The service was good and I can’t give it a five star because of the food and the price. I know prices have gone up but I ordered the chorizo and eggs with a side of sausage. The chorizo and eggs were good, can’t really mess that up. The sausage patties were the premade and heat up in the microwave kind. I also have a coffee and my grand total was $23. That’s at best anywhere else a $10-$12 meal. I won’t be stopping here again because it’s not made fresh and it cost as much as a steak dinner anywhere else.
Food and service in Clayton are pretty sketchy.
Each time we've stopped her we have been pleasantly surprised.
Invaded on a Thursday lunch hour with a group of 20, and they were more than accommodating. Felt bad for overwhelming th every nice young lady waiting tables, but she handled our group of idiots with polite and excellent service.
Fully recommend stopping in. Food is consistently good and the people are great.
The patio outside is perfect, with shade and comfortable seating.
Great food! I had the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich with fries. It was delicious with seasoned chicken, squash, and bell peppers
Others in my group had hamburgers. Each said their burger was exceptional! Serve was awesome also!
We will be stopping again.
We stopped for an early dinner on our way to Amarillo. I had the New Mexican burger and my husband had the catfish. Both were excellent. The chips and salsa were also really good. Would definitely stop here again.
Overall disappointing. We ordered grilled pollock and fish tacos, both took 30+ min prep time. When they finally arrived they were bland and underwhelming. The pollock was a firm brick, the green beans were straight out of a can, and the tacos fell apart. Service was almost nonexistent. For what it all cost we expected more.
