Best WLM Reviews

Everything was prepared to perfection for my tastes. I enjoyed eggs(over-medium), bacon, hash browns and a plate of their own”mini” pancakes. The butter was whipped and soft-spreadable which was a nice bonus. An excellent value for what we received! A quiet atmosphere with friendly & helpful staff!
Everything was really good. Except for the fact that the menu said they serve a deluxe Ruben sandwich open face. So I ordered that cuz that's what I was really looking forward to, but then it arrived in a sandwich for him and not open-faced. I was disappointed and wondered why they did this and the server said that's how they always serve it. I spoke with the manager who told me they don't serve at open-faced. I suggested they should take it out of their menu. She didn't know the menu stated it was served open-faced and they said they will make the correction.
If I lived in town here I'd probably be here at least two to three times a week. Big selection prices are very reasonable, lots of room. Onion rings were really good.
I stopped here for lunch at 11:15 am and ordered a Ham and Cheese club sandwich with a bowl of Chicken and Dumpling soup.
The soup looked better than it tasted, it really looked wonderful, but the taste was lacking flavor, it still was good, just not as good as it looked.
The sandwich was disappointing, it only had two slices of ham, the same thickness as the cheese along with a thick cut tomato. It would have been much better with double the meat, even if they had to charge more.
Overall, I wouldn't be back, I was not that impressed.
Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got my opportunity last week Friday because my kids didn't have school and I did not feel like cooking breakfast early in the morning me and my son got a corn beef hash meal and my daughter had Mickey Mouse pancakes that actually looked like Mickey Mouse with some strawberries. My husband got a whole huge thing. I don’t even know, but it came with like a little bit of everything and then my son got the big bird which is an egg bacon and a pancake this gives you the feeling of kind of stepping back in time I remember going to places like this with my parents every Sunday meeting my grandparents after church. the waitress was lovely. She knew everything I needed right before I would ask like to go boxes refills so wonderful and we will definitely be back. I know many people in West Dallas love this spot because everyone that came in was getting a hug and a how are you so good to see you I love that community vibe.
My wife and I decided to try this place because we haven’t been here since it was Johnny V’s…
Bad idea, apparently. I ordered the Dagwood burger, medium. I got well done with virtually zero seasoning. Burger had next to zero flavor. My fries were also overcooked with zero seasoning. Very brown and firm.
Wife ordered spaghetti and she said it was terrible. Pasta was overcooked and mushy. Sauce tasted overcooked too and it was greasy, like they didn’t drain the meat after cooking it. She got an upset stomach from the food.
To top it off, our waitress was nice, but clearly in a hurry, which came off as rude as we were finishing our food. She walked up the table while my hands were full of grease from the burger and said “you want to take care of the bill? I’m leaving soon. Wanna pay the bill??” She also repeatedly asked if we wanted boxes while we were clearly still eating. She was clearly in a huge rush and wanted her tip….
Needless to say, we won’t be returning…
If we want a quick bite with variety, Pegasus is just down the road and they have better food and we’re never rushed…
Wonderful service, quick turnaround for food. Clean environment. We order breakfast. Portions enough for two small appetites . Very impressive ????.
Cute, comfy-homey feel.. like a family diner. Very happy there's one like this in West Allis. Good food, nice friendly service. Ok prices. Will be going back often :)
Coffee was a fantastic bottomless cup, I found out they grind the beans right there! Also had chicken fried steak that was delicious! The service was great as well! The food was so good I picked the plate clean, lol.
