Top shelf steak place. This place knows how to do it right and give the customers a whole experience. The wagyu melted in your mouth and the king crab legs were so delicious. They also have these lobster bites that are a crowd favorite. They pour good drinks and the desserts were a great way to end a feast like this. Crab cakes were also one of my favorites.
Beautiful wonderful best tasting food ever. Still to this day I can't get over the softness of the bone- in prime rib (could cut it with a spoon), oh so flavorful, the pepper was out of this world I still wonder where they got it from, and the sourdough bread. Absolutely phenomenal. Price was definitely expected for the quality and well enough for the portions.
Man, this place hit the spot! Had the excellent service of two bald gentlemen lol both were incredibly funny, polite and knowledgeable. It's a very cool atmosphere that is dimly but well lit and is laid back yet sophisticated. I started with the bone marrow. It was incredible, three very filled halves, cooked and sided to perfection. Then, I had the Kansas City Strip (mr). It was cooked great, incredibly flavorful steaks and a side of the brussel sprouts, half since the full is big enough for two. Finished it off with a delicious carrot cake. Absolutely wonderful meal and experience here. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I had THE BEST experience at this restaurant. When I walked in I was greeted by two very upbeat young ladies whom set a great tone for the evening. I was led to a really great booth (which I requested on my reservation) most appreciated, and was immediately greeted by the waiter.
Andy was absolutely awesome. From the time I sat down, he was pleasant, made great recommendations, and kept my water topped off. He checked on me before and after my entrees arrived several times, and kept the bread coming. Didn’t need it but hey, I wasn’t going to deny myself bread and butter baby! Also there was another waiter who topped my water and off just because he seen my glass half full, that was kind.
Now about the food, it was absolutely phenomenal, every single dish. Again, the first serving was the hot and fresh bread and butter, I had 2 amazing servings. I ordered Jumbo Scallops, which included grilled asparagus, beer battered squash blossoms, parmesan polenta cake, and romesco sauce; absolutely delicious. I also ordered Lobster Macaroni and Cheese; when I tell you that there were several thick pieces of lobster in the side dish, I’m not joking. Probably the best I have had thus far.
It was plenty food and I left with a to-go container. I will definitely return. 801 Chop House has been added to my list of favorites of restaurants in Kansas City, Missouri! You’re going to enjoy this place, I guarantee!
Ate at the bar. Previously ate at a location in St Louis. Great Midwestern steakhouse. Bartender was very knowledgeable and made a great cocktail. Good value all in all great experience definitely a go-to in KCMO or St Louis.
Had a wonderful experience with my son last night for my birthday. Service was excellent. The food is extraordinary. Chef Jake is so talented. I highly recommend going here for special events.
