801 Bourbon Bar is a fantastic spot where everyone is welcome, regardless of how you identify. The atmosphere is always lively with great music, and the bartenders are both friendly and serve up strong drinks. Whether you're just popping in for a quick drink or looking to sit back and relax for a while, this place has you covered.
A highlight of the night is the drag show, which happens every evening at 9 PM and 11 PM. It's definitely an experience you don’t want to miss—entertaining, energetic, and a lot of fun. If you’re in Key West, 801 Bourbon Bar is a must-visit!
Someone suggested this bar and to my surprise, I saw my first Live Drag Show.
I have enjoyed the British film Kinky Boots, back in 2005. The Gay Parade in Manhattan was jaw dropping. I have seen men dressed in gowns, wigs, makeup, jewelry... But must of all, they focus and willed themselves to feel and be absolutely femenine. The walk, the movement is jaw dropping.
801 Bourbon Bar has a cast of performers that express humor, strong emotions, and femenine sex appeal.

Absolutely loved our time here. Alvin was such an amazing bartender! He has fun with all guests and never stops dancing! Recommend the Key Lime Martini.
We happened upon this place while exploring Duval St. Wife was set on checking out and we were both glad we did. Very talented performers, striking a nice balance of humor, professionalism, and artistry at the show!
Amazing place! Alvin has so much positive energy and made everyone feel welcome, honestly the perfect bartender! Always checking in on us, offered recommendations and made sure we were always taken care of. Can’t recommend Alvin enough, I wish every bar has an Alvin! I had so much fun here and the drinks were fantastic!
I had read many negative reviews about Bourbon 801, but against my better judgment, I decided to give it a try instead of returning to Aqua, which I’ve enjoyed twice before. Unfortunately, Bourbon 801 was a major letdown. The show featured three performers rotating, but two of them barely put any effort into lip-syncing, and their lack of dancing was especially disappointing. The $20 door fee (compared to $15 online) felt like a penalty to endure an hour of lackluster and outdated performances—except for the blonde, who was the only saving grace. I can’t recommend this place. Save your time and money—just keep walking.
Watched our first live Drag show, and it was a lot of fun! Will definitely make sure to grab some cash next time...
Didn't stay long at the bar but the music was good.
I'm posting to share our experience this past weekend. We arrived at this bar to celebrate my siblings birthday, were greeted and asked what we wanted and for us to respond that we'll think about it. A few minutes later another employee comes and tells us his manager has said we have to leave and gives us no reason until our group, who are all of age adults, pull out our ID's and get cleared where we eventually figured out that was the reason. I have no issue getting ID checked and have NEVER been told to leave without a perceived reason. The employee was apologetic and we appreciated that; however the manager avoided us the rest of our time there and didn't come to apologize. I would like to give this place another chance but this experience really soured me towards it. I've never had a negative experience like this one before.
