Service was friendly, but unless this is an area that you're used to being in, be ready for a cultural experience. The dining room is closed, so other than three small tables, most people take away their food.
The window where you order is behind bulletproof glass. There are also multiple stickers in the door that advertise buying cars with or without titles. That certainly helps you understand the vibe of the surrounding area... Nonetheless, I did feel relatively safe (albeit I dined at about 1pm during a weekday).
Prices are reasonable and portions are large. There is a vast menu to choose from.
Note that they do charge for water.
I’ve been living in walking distance to this restaurant for over 20 years. This place has taken a deep dive. I ordered a Greek salad, does the photo look like a Greek salad to you? They put mozzarella cheese and banana peppers on it. What Greek salad comes with banana peppers? Did they run out of pepperoncini or did the cook not know the difference between the two??! Smh The chicken has NO FLAVOR, bland as ever. Perfect for a diabetic I suppose. I will no longer patronize this establishment and be sure to tell the plant workers to stop doordashing from here. ROYAL GRILL has a much better selection, cares about preparation and actually seasons their chicken. I regret paying in cash because I would have definitely disputed the charges had I swiped my card. Disappointed is an understatement
During my 50 before 50 challenge, I made sure to visit the iconic 8 Mile Grill in Detroit. I ordered their delicious French toast, bacon and eggs, and hash browns. It was a satisfying experience worth recommending to food and travel enthusiasts like me!
The only reason I put any stars is because I need to write this review.This is my 2nd time ordering from this restaurant, yesterday I ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad for the second time.. The first time the was very good and I knew what came on it.. But yes I received a HEAD OF LETTUCE for ) $17 and it was delivered by Uber Eats. So I called to talk to a manager and the lady explained that they changed shift and that was the day shift.. This is what brings me to write this review today. I just got off the phone with a young lady called me Boo, Bae and saying she was the manager, but I explained to her that I knew she wasn’t because a manager wouldn’t talk like that.. But the funny thing was that manger Tony was standing near and wouldn’t get on the phone to talk.. But the bad part of this all is, I’m at home and can’t drive to even go up there do to I just had surgery on my leg and can not walk.. But now you see why black people don’t support black businesses.. I will never again order from the place.. To Tony, it should not matter that I ordered through Uber Eats, It’s about how professionally you ran your business and treat your customers, for they can come back to support you… ( Never Again )
First time visiting this coney island, I ordered a sausage patty with egg, they put cheese on it that I didn't ask for, the sausages were dry, didn't look fresh at all, the tuna melt was so mushy, as if it had to much mayo, something was off, like the tuna was generic. To sum it up, I wasted $17.00 this was my first and last time ever. Ps plz do something with your parking lot, cus there's more holes than swiss cheese.
Imma be honest great food, beautiful ladies gives great service but dat damn parking lot c'mon man that's ridiculous how u got folks riding they vehichles on sumin like dat owner needs to get it repaved like yesterday outta be ashamed, I'm ready to call Fox 2 put him in the hall of shame bcuz its a damn shame
First time there the other day.. Lady at the counter was very friendly. Food was definitely worth coming back for..
I visit this Coney a lot. The food is pretty consistent and the staff is usually friendly. My order is always right and they give you plenty of condiments.
