Best WLM Reviews
Positive: Checking out! Negative: Yes, absolutely everything! It?s advertised as a 2.5 star hotel. When in reality it?s a 1 star hotel. The whole hotel smells like cigarettes. The room keys needs to be reactivated every 12 hrs. Rooms dirty, floor was sticky.? the list goes on.
Positive: The single thing that we liked was the proximity to the subway. Negative: EVERYTHING! The reason we chose the hotel was they had a ?parking lot?, which is actually a closed off alleyway & maybe 7 vehicles can fit. The hotel charges $50 an hour. The room was not clean & smelled heavily of the last patron there on his lunch hour
If I could give it zero stars, I would.
We are from out of state, and booked this hotel because it seemed to be the closest to SUNY Maritime. I am not familiar with the area at all, as we just flew in to drop off our student. The room had a horrid stench of disinfectant, roach killer, and weed. The TV did not work at all. There was no coffee in the lobby, neither during the day, nor in the morning. Their other patrons don't care about anyone else--they slam doors all night, yell, fight, etc. I've witnessed a very loud verbal altercation right in front of the check in desk, and the clerk did nothing!!! No police was called! I needed to make sure my student gets rest before a very strenuous INDOC in SUNY Maritime, but that did not happen. I am surprised that the front desk does not do anything! At least, they need to help keep peace and quiet, because that's what the hotel is supposed to be for.
The outside area is full of trash, the bridge next to the hotel is undergoing construction; we had to walk a very narrow bridge passageway full of garbage, broken glass, etc. The weed smell was so strong that my student was worried he won't pass his drug test at his college.
Do not recommend at all, stay elsewhere.
Positive: The security guy is very nice. Negative: They did not put clean sheets. Towels and bed sheets were already use by previous guest.
Being that I booked my flight about less than 36 hours from touchdown in NYC, I knew getting a hotel stay was going to be a challenge. But 7 Days Hotel...well they answered my cry of HELP.
This Hotel is The Greatest!!! After an Overbooking at the hotel I was supposed to stay at told me when I went to check in... My brother got me a room at around 2:30 in the morning, and then booked the room for the following day. This hotel is My Knight in Shining Armor.
The lobby of this hotel is super clean, and it has a security guard on duty for your safety. Though you wouldn't need one, but it's best to have it and not need it, then...well you know.
Vending machines for snacks and drinks, and take out menus in case you want food delivered...which I did. On the 2nd floor... Ice machine, microwave and an Air Fryer. Tables are present, but I didn't see any chairs. I guess you eat in your room. There is even a small medical machine that is supplied with and for anything that ails you.
My room wasn't too small or wasn't too big. Comfortable bed. The bathroom... I liked that there was a soothing light surrounding the very large mirror. I am one for soothing lights instead of a harsh overhead light. I spent about 8 minutes trying to figure out how to turn the shower on. Found out how after using the ice bucket to rinse off. You have to turn the ring where the water comes out into the tub. There was a sign right below the showerhead, but I couldn't make out what the 2nd of the two signs said.
The Staff... Usually at hotels at 2 in the morning are crumpy and don't like to be bothered. Not the person behind the counter at this hotel. I felt like he was waiting for me the whole night. He made my check in pleasant.
I woke up at around 11am, washed my face and went to the front desk. I sent a text last night to the person who booked the room for me...that he had to book my today's stay in my name, and not his. It's the details that make everything go right. The woman at the desk asked me did I need room service or was their anything else that she could help me with. All I needed was the password to the wifi, which she kindly gave to me.
This hotel is off the highway with family homes right besides it. The only sounds are those of the traffic on the highway. Once it twice during my stay I heard room doors slamming. The doors are free swinging, and don't close automatically...which is good.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I slept well and wished I had another stay, but I had to go back to Virginia.
A +++ to the Staff who made my stay enjoyable.
Hotel was nice, loved the space to park. The staff was welcoming and well behaved and the room was clean and had all amenities! I would recommend!
It's a very economical stay and the rooms are pretty clean. They must see an ID to check-in for every guest. They are very strict about this. There must be a history of riff raff at this location.
This past May 2024, I had to spend one night at that hotel.
Before heading to the hotel, I have read so many bad reviews, that I contacted my boss and we were considering canceling my one night stay there.
Long story short : the place is very decent and the many negative reviews are really unfair, if we ignore that they are about one year old or so.
The hotel is in an ordinary working class neighborhood of the Bronx, ie : ordinary fellow human beings trying their best to support their families and pay their bills. Try watching TV if you are looking for that drama and fear-dispensing often associated with "The Bronx".
In the morning, pleasant-personality 'Migdalia', was doing her best to juggle front desk duties and keeping the coffee stand inviting to the guests. She has been working there for 3 years.
In the lobby, there was a big family of observant muslims, which - in my opinion - gave the hotel an aura of being family-friendly.
I left my pickup truck parked in front of the hotel on the street, with valuable generators on its bed in plain view. In the morning, it remained unmolested.
For the record, I had mercy on the unopened box of kleenex and the towels : I took none with me !!!.
Best wishes to that business and to 'Migdalia'.
