Best WLM Reviews
I was meeting up with someone and they said let’s me at 615 district I said ok. So when I got there I I was waiting on the person I was meeting I was like what is this place. So when they left I said I was gonna check it out. So i ordered food for me and my son, i ordered pork chops with gravy with Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes and cornbread. For me i ordered same thing except i added turnip greens. The people that work there are super nice. So when i got home i got ready to eat for one the sides was like a child’s plate not much at all. Also I was missing gravy on the pork chops on both plates, missing my cornbread on both plates. Mind u I paid 38 dollars for this so I was highly disappointed. So I called back up there to explain what was going on I sent pictures and they said that’s how the portion are normally I said wow! Then she said I do apologize on behalf of my associate. We are supposed to check the orders before they go out and then we do typically ask the customer to check the order as well to make extra sure. Then I said don’t worry about it all good take care. Plus I live all the way across town. So I definitely won’t be going back there to eat!!
World’s smallest wings.
We came in on a Sunday at 12. There were about ten cars in the parking lot so definitely not busy. We had a party of 11 and didn’t mind waiting, if necessary - as we were interested in trying the “soul food” but were met first with a confused look about how many we had when asked then an attitude from a lady coming out of the back asking if we called ahead to make a reservation. There was literally a table to fit us in the back but attitude about not calling first.
We ordered turnip greens that were mostly stems and tasted like pure vinegar and salt. Chicken and dumplings that somehow also tasted like vinegar and salt, or some weird tangy flavor.
The wings were barely the length of my index finger and mind you I have small fingers. It literally looked like someone took a bite off of each wing and they re-battered and fried them - I know that’s not the case but that’s what they looked like. The macaroni was way too salty. Honestly the best part of our meal was plain French fries and canned green beans because they weren’t full of salt. This is not soul food, this is salt food and was extremely unpleasant. Not to mention the whole vibe after the initial attitude we got was off - we felt very unwelcome. Will not be returning.
Good food. Good staff. Zia was friendly and attentive. She and several others were euute attentive to the tables. Sweet Thai Chili wing sauce had great flavor. Onion rings were a tad greasy and slightly overcooked, but good. Was slightly suprised that the bone-in wings were breaded. Lots of great soul food type options. Very satisfied with our choice for road trip looks-kimd-of-like-a-dive stop for lunch while traveling.
I ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and white beans off UberEats. The potatoes were watery and grainy and had no flavor. The white beans were not seasoned and tasted like they came from a can. The meatloaf was like pressed processed patties but the red sauce on top was really good...it was the only thing that had good flavor. The water biscuit was okay but no flavor! I only ate about half the meal and the whole time I was thinking it was exactly what you would expect from a school lunch.
Probably the worst steak I’ve ever had. Paper thin and chewy. I’ve had better steaks at Waffle House. The server was nice and the restaurant was clean. It took 20 minutes to get my cocktail. The area is sketchy at night. I’d never go back. Very disappointing.
It was alright, the food was pretty good but the service was very poor. My waitress never checked on me. And I had to get up and asked the bus boy for my check and it still took her FOREVER to bring it to me. She never refilled my drink or asked if I needed anything. And it was a slooooow day. No one was even dining in at the time. SMH... I'll go back, but I'm definitely taking it to go instead of dining in.
Service was a little slow, but when we got seated there was only one waitress. The food was extremely large portions. The chicken and dressing was really good and all of the sides were great. The fried chicken was one like fried bones. We ordered the banana pudding and peach cobbler. The pudding was super dry, more like lady fingers with a little pudding. On the other end, the cobbler was more like peach soup. The dough was not cooked, but the peaches did have a nice flavor.
Our family went in there to eat, it was a bigger group of people. I say 20 and we understand that it takes a while to get food done and prepared but it took them about 2 hours The kids were literally crying and hungry. And when the food came out the proportions were not very big. It's not very organized. I really hate having to give such low rates but this is not somewhere I would go back again or frequent a lot until they can do better with the food to take that long I know it's 20 people but 2 hours and then the food proportions were sad. The food came so late that our party was over about 20 min before the food came out. Some of it party had to leave and seek food elsewhere bc of small kids started to cry after an hour wait. We were charged 12 bucks for this very small piece of meat called a burger under this very dry bacon that was also small. Take notes how big the bun is with this tiny dry burger. Normally we move on and don't complain but today was enough to make us not wanna go back. The price paid for the meals serve, slow service due to understaff, not one person got a refill, 6 to 8 people left after an hour wait and no food still, then the checks were of course not correct. Food all mixed up, things on our ticket we did not eat and the bathroom was literally like a sauna. The entire place including restroom had floors so sticky our feet made noise when we picked up our feet up..it took 45 more minutes just to pay and get our bill. Whole process right under 3 hours. It was a bad experience overall. Too much money for the food served. We sent the burger back I just was not paying 12 for onion rings and a Krystal size overcooked burger and dry bacon. This place can be saved with help. Was not crowded besides our family of 20 or so and the poor waitress alone I understand can't handle it alone. I hope they get some help and knowledge of how much food cost versus what was brought out for customers to accept as okay and eat!
