Best WLM Reviews

Stopped in Kalamazoo on my way to Detroit and saw this recommended. Atmosphere- industrial, chic, and welcoming. Staff- attentive and friendly. I got the Fall Harvest Salad with added tofu for protein and holy smokes I didn’t realize a salad could put me in such a happy mood. My only mark i have is not living closer. An easy endorsement for locals and travelers both ☺️
Very good food and very decent portion sizes. All of the food had great flavor and went together very well. The atmosphere had a nice warehouse chic vibe and felt very clean. Food came out very fast too (although we did go at a non busy time). This was actually a recommendation from a college student, so it must be well beloved from locals. However, the food is on the pricier side.
High quality delicious food. Pomegranate Breeze cocktail was very refreshing. The Burmese fries starter is quite unique and is served with tender pork. I had salmon and it was cooked to perfection. The Wagyu burger looked great and my daughter loved it. Great service and nice vibes.
I don't normally take photos of my food before I eat it-- I've never been good at "aesthetic" stuff. But even our appetizers were so gorgeous I couldn't resist. (True to form, I failed to take pictures of our gorgeous entrees or desserts... oops.) ((Maybe that'll be a good excuse to go back? ;) ))
The service was amazing-- you can tell the people actually care about both the product and service they're offering. I, ever indecisive, was torn between a few options, and our waitress was so patient in not only understanding me and what I wanted, but also getting me the best opportunity I could.
It wasn't just our amazing waitress, though--- everyone who interacted with us was just amazing!
We were fortunate enough to have received a gift card from a family friend (father of our roommate) to celebrate our anniversary-- which we ended up having to postpone because we had a perfect storm of bad luck. When we ended up having another little spat of bad luck, I told my fiance that I was done waiting and we actually drove up an hour from where we were just to go, because we deserved something nice. (And we took our roommate because we knew this was going to be amazing and worth it-- especially since he gave the initial recommendation!)
I just wrote a whole bunch detailing each dish that I had to delete because honestly---??? My writing definitely cannot hold a candle to how good it was, haha. So you'll just have to experience it for yourself.
Long story short (tl;dr): if you want fresh food with natural and locally sourced ingredients, a restaurant with a good atmosphere and amazing staff, and you're not at 600 yet...? What are you doing?!
I'd say tell them I sent ya but I'm sure customers raving about their stuff is so common that I'm just one of many, haha. ;)
My husband and I went here for dinner. The service and atmosphere were excellent, our server Garner was very nice and answered our questions. We had the dip trio and glazed carrots for an appetizer. The carrots were absolutely delicious! My husband got the steak and I had chicken. Both were very good. The carrots were probably the best thing tho, very different from anything I've ever had and would definitely get them any and every time I come here!
My friend brought me here to celebrate my birthday. She ordered the salmon that was perfect. I ordered the shrimp and grits because I seen photos on the reviews and they were highly recommended. To my disappointment, I received my food and there was so much oil on it that the grits were so soupy and you could not even recognize there were any grits. I hesitated but did end up asking for a remake and the chef sent the server back to tell me she will remake it but it was not just oil it had wine in it. My food took so long to come back out that I just asked for it to go because we had already been in the restaurant for 3 hours and my friend finished her food at least 25 mins. prior. To my disappointment when I went to eat my food at home, the center of the grits under the arugala and onions was filled with uncooked cooking wine and completely inedible. Because of my experience, I don’t think we will be returning in the future:(
This is a beautiful place but food was just not good. We waited 40 mins for food. I got the chicken and waffles. Chicken was overcooked, tough, salty and barely warm. Food was given to me sloppy on the plate. Did not look good at all. Would not recommend.
The 600 Bowl was even better than I remembered, possibly because chicken tenders were substituted for the usual popcorn chicken. As always, the coffee was excellent. The pancake board also looked great, but it won't hold syrup and has the potential to create quite a mess. While we didn't see a Top Chef on this visit, I can understand why they dine here. We will definitely be back in the not too distant future.
