Don't order specials! It's double prices low quality food with 50% off price. I ordered 5 rolls sounded amazing on paper. Green dragon, volcano, ocean, spicy shrimp and crunch salmon roll . First thing I noticed was every roll had huge amount of rice and it was so overcooked that you can't separate pieces with chopsticks - everything fell apart. Spicy rolls was not spicy at all, crunch salmon had crunch stuff inside and no salmon, green dragon was just overpriced eel avocado roll, volcano had crunch stuff and crab meat on top with no fish whatsoever and ocean roll is the only one that actually had little fish on top. 4 out of 5 rolls tasted absolutely the same due to overcooked rice (lots of overcooked rice ) and crunch stuff, only green dragon tasted differently but not good. Overall l'd put minus 5 stars if I could, l'd just stick with places I know.
Experiment failed !!!! Dinner ruined. $55 wasted. 4.9 stars reviews made me write this - I almost never write reviews.
Do your self a favor and DO NOT order food from this establishment. This is the WORST restaurant I have ever gone to. The edamame was over cooked and so over salted it wasn’t edible. The chicken tasted old and like rubber, the maki was soggy and nasty. Needles to say we threw the food away as well as my money. We called the restaurant and wanted to bring the food back for a refund which was declined. Not only was the food nasty, they customer service was terrible as well. Wish we checked the reviews before wasting our money. There is no way that they will stay in business, you are better off eating at McDonald’s
Sorry to say i was excited to try a new sushi place, but i regret paying for the food I didn't eat. Shrimp tempura was RE cooked and placed in my sushi. The crab meat was sour too. The tea cup was dirty and the plates. Service was not great. At this point, I hope I don't get sick.
Ordered sushi, a
Volcano roll, which is a specialty roll. So today, I get it and I’ve ordered this same roll 20 times. And this is what I received. The cucumber was not existent. And anyone who eats sushi knows a roll that’s filled with all rice isn’t good sushi. So when I called they insisted it’s the same thing. When I I’m telling them it isn’t. I’m not paying 16$ a roll to get a roll that’s made like their 7$ rolls. Never have I ever had 2 rolls and then still be hungry. You tell me what you guys think. Roll has spicy shrimp and cucumber inside. Tell me if you see that cucumber. And on top is suppose to be crab, yellow tail, salmon and spicy mayo. No spicy mayo and no cucumber. I’d avoid if you like sushi.
I ordered online because the sign in the window said it would be cheaper. Well you know the old saying you get what you pay for. The spicy salmon wasn’t spicy and I doubt it was salmon. Hell the wasabi was even very bland with no taste. Save time and go next door to Shop and Save and get sushi from the grocery store. It will be fresher and taste better.
Terrible place! Everything is dirty, service is zero. Waitstaff are rude, they threw a straw on the table like I’m a pig. They are rude and demand tips for no service. Do not recommend, steer clear! With this level of service, you’ll never keep customers because your attitude is terrible!
The sushi here was delicious! I had the cucumber, avocado, California shrimp, and 2x crunch shrimp as an all you can eat along with an ice tea. Probably the best sushi place I’ve been to
Some minor pros and cons:
It was a bit more expensive than what I expected since it’s around $23 for the all you can eat option, which is a great deal and with tax it should be around ~$26, though with the extra service charges it was $32 in total which was a bit over my usual budget but I am not complaining because the place looked very nice and the food was great! Would totally recommend
Blech! I hate to leave a bad review, but I really did not care for the sushi here. This place recently opened in Metropolitan Square in Des Plaines, and I was hoping it would be good, since it would be so convenient to have a quality sushi place in walking distance of my sister's home (Dotombori, also nearby, is popular, but not our favorite). That said, I noticed the reviews for the 5th Ave Sushi Arlington Heights location weren't very good, but I hoped this would be better. Alas, I can't see myself returning.
We submitted our order online and took it to go. That much went smoothly, though we did have to wait a little bit in the restaurant for our order to be finished. My problem is just that I really didn't like the sushi. First and foremost is the rice itself; I think it's whatever vinegar they use to make it. It just made everything completely unpalatable to me. The fish ingredients were "okay," not great, not awful, but the rice just ruined it for me.
