When in Yorktown......
We have a family place near here and don't get to this town very often. Didn't take many pictures as we were enjoying the company of family.
Would recommend the fried pickles, jalapeño cheese bite things, and the creme brulee cheesecake. I split the fishbowl drink with one person, and it was okay... it was lacking something but I don't know what.
I wasn't that hungry but knew I needed to eat, so I got the house salad with grilled chicken and no egg. It was good, but I wish there had been more veggies for the salad.
Our server was great and on fire! (I don't think I ever heard her name.)
This was my first night. I was just hired and the whole staff was wonderful to me. This is an experience that everyone must have at least once. The food is very good. Kitchen immaculate and I learned that the customers I had the pleasure of meeting and serving are very loyal and friendly. I haven't met the family that owns the establishment, but I can gather from what I witnessed and heard..they are humble and very kind.

Wonderful place to go with family and friends! Great food, service, and live music. It's a very spacious restaurant! Jalapeño cheese curds were delicious and so was the whiskey pecan glazed chicken breast! Yummy
Business hours are wrong online so its inconvenient when you drive all the way up there for them to be closed. Servers only care about you if you go inside drive through lady was rude when she was told that the okra was not fresh. I did not get an apology or nothing. She just waited for me to hand back the paper, so I spent seven dollars on old okra. Okra was mushy and hardly fried. Was also given five things of silverware we've when I only ordered two things. Waste of products for the company. Also, there was only one sauce packet for my fries. I feel like every time I come through the drive-through, it's always something. Rude servers, food is wrong, missing items, and so on. Guess I'll have to start going to the other place maybe service will be better
Managers didn’t seem to know much definitively about what was or wasn’t gluten free and apparently didn’t have any reference recipes or etc, so that that is an allergy/health issue, and Yorktown doesn’t have many places to eat to begin with and that I was traveling from afar, that really sucked because by the looks of the place they could definitely afford to pay some cook to make a menu guide for it… That and the decor was a turn off.
That said, still giving stars behind the 1 because the food was okay - was in a party of like 7, and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals aside from me and the other gluten free girl. Service was exactly what we needed - in our circumstances we needed to call ahead to order our food so it would be ready as soon as we walked in, so we could hurry up and eat and leave, and I’m VERY GRATEFUL that they did this arrangement for us because it was a Thursday night and they could have said no.
That said, online info needs to be updated; the original plan along our long drive in was to order online so thank goodness I’m gluten free and on top of my health which required calling, because I found out when I did that while it says you can order online, you actually cannot.
Bathrooms were clean, the place is on the loud side but it’s also huge.
Long story short, if this place was in the big city I’d go somewhere else, but looking at the other options near-ish them, yes, I would try them again should I need to pass thru Yorktown again.
This is an upscale restaurant in Carrizo Spring and affordable specially for lunch . The pork chops were amazing, the Mac so creamy ,the g. beans fresh and the corn b so fluffy. Service and atmosphere was pleasant. I’ll come back for sure ????
Excellent service, our waitress was Faith E. Very friendly. It wasn’t real busy so, another waitress, Ashley W. Came to our table. Both young ladies were a pleasure to be around. The Grilled fish tacos were delicious!
An overpriced restaurant playing dress-up as something more upscale, 5D Steakhouse is like a child pretending to be an adult.
My meal there was, frankly, expensive. Which is understandable, it's a steakhouse; you're going to pay a premium for quality meats cooked in excellent fashion, sure. The problem is when the quality of the food and the quality of the service doesn't reflect that.
When my family got there, it took us around 15 minutes to get seated anywhere properly. We spent a few minutes walking around the acre-sized dining areas and lounge, couldn't find any workers to assist us. Finally, a friendly bartender told us to sit at a table, a waitress will be with us shortly.
We waited there another ten, fifteen minutes while a waitress browsed her phone in the corner. We were the only ones in that dining area. How no one had the foresight to check on us, the only seated family in the football field-sized dining area, is beyond me. I had to walk over and ask if we could be waited on, it wasn't a good look.
I ordered a signature dish, the Salmon Oscar. It wasn't impressive. The charbroiled salmon, admittedly, was quite tasty but the bed of rice and asparagus it was resting on was bland. The rice, zero flavor. The asparagus, okay. They were stacked clumsily on each other like some uninspired culinary Jenga. The only "signature" I'd put on that dish is if I were finalizing a restraining order. It's such a shame because the salmon was tasty, and it eclipsed every other element on that plate instead of working together in harmony.
It was an expensive meal, but I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth. I didn't leave thinking, "Wow, that's a $70 meal worth coming back." I left thinking, "Man, I feel like I just got scammed a little."
Desserts, there are several to choose from, are not house made. This came from the waitress herself. $10 for tiny portions of dessert not made in house. The waitress herself told me getting a dessert wasn't worth it. What's the point? Why are you offering that to me? Here's a tiny slice of something we didn't even make? If I go to a steakhouse, I want a full, rich experience, not some poorly realized, half-baked one.
My verdict? More Stinkhouse than Steakhouse. It's not worth eating at. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
