We arrived at 5D after the lunch rush at 1:20 pm. Got our drinks and placed our order by 1:35 pm for Charbroiled Salmon with Fried Okra & Grilled Asparagus and Country Fried Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes & House Salad. Then a group of three came in and placed their order. In about 10-15 minutes we saw some food coming from the kitchen. We thought it was ours, but it went to the group of three. Then more food came out for the same group. Finally, we got the house salad at around 2:00 pm (20-minute prep for salad) which was slightly wilted. Finally, we got our food. The salmon was cooked properly with a good flavor. The country fried steak was crispy but a little tough and the potatoes needed gravy to go with the steak.
The food was good but the timing poor. With a 30-minute wait for food, we will not be going back again. Plus, the tabletop was sticky.
Waitress is rude, menu says triple cheeseburger but it's triple cheese not a true triple cheeseburger. Vegetables were slimy and brown and the tomato still had its outer stem on it. Completely horrible food and way over priced. Probably just good for a simple steak but nothing more. Lady was too pushy and didn't listen and just rude in general. Just remember DO Better!
Stopped at a steak house and ordered chicken strips, baked potato, salad, green beans and sweet potato fries. Three adults shared one meal and there was food left over. Definitely good food and under rated.
Tried for the first time and would definitely go again! I got the chicken fried steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and a salad with ranch. Excellent choice! Husband got grilled pork chops, green beans, and a salad. Also an excellent choice! Our waitress was very friendly and efficient.
So as many times as I have been to Kenedy to visit my dad and family, I never knew this place even existed ???? glad to have stumbled upon it. So we started with some Alligator ???? nuggets and they were delicious ???? we both ordered a 10 oz flamed grilled ribeye medium well, with a grilled asparagus and a house salad for our sides. Dad had blue cheese dressing and I had a delicious raspberry vinaigrette dressing????. I will say I was not impressed at first look with the steak seeing how the ate was close to 30 bucks I was expecting to see a nicer looking steak ???? but honestly the steak was cooked almost perfectly and the flavoring wasn't bad or I would of needed steak sauce????. Always a plus when I don't ???????????? The waitress was informative of the menu....and gave our table just enough attention. Oh and the dessert warm pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla icecream omg ???? ???? ???? sooo good sooo sweet ???? ???? definitely well be back to try something new.
The salad was good. I order the chicken fried steak. I have had better. The chicken fried steak had no flavor. The green beans didn't have any flavor either. Order a strawberry Margarita and you couldn't ever taste any liquor in it. It tasted like a sour patch kid. Sour then super sweet.
Went on a Wednesday night. Was not crowded we only ordered a normal hamburger, vegetable sides, and catfish plate for 3 people. The waitress came by 3x to continue to ask if we were ok waiting. I finally got up to ask another server to check on it and she never came back for update. Went to hostess station and finally got our server to get food and was well over 40 min. The taste was very good however after all that time, the sweet potato fries were actually cold and I had to send them back. Veggies were good n fish plate consumed. They did offer free dessert but we were already late for a funeral viewing so they took off part of table. I would go again, but if the service was the same, I will not.
What a great way to celebrate my daughter's birthday! Food was excellent! Two of us had the stuffed flounder over rice with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and all was perfectly seasoned n cooked. Another item was the grilled chicken with asparagus and it was also cooked and seasoned well. For appetizers, we has fried mushrooms. Also, good. Our waiter was very timel and friendly, filling our glasses as needed.
