Best WLM Reviews

Myself and 2 family members had a late lunch at this restaurant recently. We were quickly seated even though there was a waiting list. The staff were quite friendly and attentive. We ordered the gringo dip as a starter; chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with grilled brussel sprouts; spicy fried chicken sandwich with fries and rattlesnake pasta. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food but the portions were so generous that we all brought food home. This restaurant has a large and varied menu so you’re sure please everyone in your party. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My experience with this restaurant has been less than stellar and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. My very first experience here on Nov 11th they overcooked a medium steak three times and served me steak well done instead. The manager tried to make it right, finally got me a medium steak and graciously offered me a $25 gift card as a token of good gesture to give them “another chance”. Today I decided to give it a second try, I ordered Steak (medium) and Ribs (a selection directly from their menu) with brussel sprouts. My friend ordered a protein bowl with steak (well done) and soup. What we got you might ask? I received steak and to my surprise it was perfectly cooked! But, things quickly went downhill…I didn’t receive the ribs that were supposed to have come with my meal because the waitress entered the order wrong. My friend received her soup and a piece of flat iron steak also cooked medium but no protein bowl just a piece of steak on a plate that was undercooked from how she ordered it. We brought it to their attention so they recooked the steak, and brought her out what was the driest piece of steak you could offer someone. We didn’t say a word and were just going to go about our evening until one of the leads/managers came by and asked how everything was, we expressed our disappointment and explained we were there using a gift card from our previous visit that also went poorly. He apologized offered another piece of steak but we were over it by this point and politely refused, he apologized and politely offered to cover our appetizer on our next visit, much appreciated but we’re ready to go. The waitress comes by and we tell her that we are ready to pay, I hand her the gift card that the manager from the first visit gave me. The cherry on top of all the poor experience for me was she then looks at me and says “the gift card balance is $0.00” shocked I just look at her for a moment, briefly explain why I’m shocked, she offers to get the manager to resolve it but I’m like no, no let me just pay my bill and get out of here. The two and only two times I’ve eaten here the experience was terrible. I understand that mistakes happen but failure after failure is a no go for me. Take your chances if you feel like it but going out is too dang expensive to go somewhere and have multiple bad experiences like this. I wanted to love you 54th as a lot of people have told me great things but it’s a no from me.
This was my first visit to this location of 54th Street Grill and I was pretty impressed! We visited on a Friday evening around 7:00pm, and although it was crowded, we only waited 5 minutes to be seated. They have a huge menu, but we saw they have this 'Dinner for Two' special that includes 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert for $39 - not a bad price! We started with the fried pickles, which came out hot and were very tasty. My Husband and I each ordered the veggie burger which was also very delicious! One thing I appreciated about this veggie burger was that the patty tasted and looked made-in-house. I am not a fan of those prepackaged patties that come frozen in a box, these had a yummy blend of vegetables, grains and greens and fell a part a little when you took a bite into it (which is a sure sign way you can tell you're eating a more homemade veggie patty vs the processed kind). We then finished off with the salted caramel & chocolate brownie served with vanilla bean ice cream that was SO GOOD and the perfect way to finish a meal! Our waiter was also very attentive and kind. Highly recommend stopping in here for a bite!
We understand now why this place has been packed every time we drive by! Everything was outstanding-no wait time, clean restroom, outdoor seating, fun vibe, impressive menu & even more impressive food & service. Both Luis, our Server & Hector, Manager made sure we had a positive experience. The rib recommendation was spot on and we LOVED the mixed vegetable medley!! I especially appreciated the extensive gluten free options/menu!!! I have a feeling we’ll be dining here often!
Cool eclectic vibe similar to House of blues or hard rock cafe. The food was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We could’ve easily shared an entrée after getting the load potato (tater kegs) appetizers. We did not get any adult beverages, but I think they would’ve been good based on what I saw at other tables. The food and the service weren’t very quick even though the restaurant wasn’t nearly full. Which is really my only complaint. That I said, I would definitely return.
I had a great and delicious time during happy hour. The male staff member was friendly.
My service and food over at this location was amazing! I sat at the bar and Jose was very attentive and made the most yummy drinks. I had a cold beer with lots of foam at the top, and a paloma with freshly squeezed grape fruit juice. My rattlesnake pasta was so creamy, flavorful, savory and great with every bite. I had only ate half my plate and I was so full already but I wanted to keep eating because it was so delicious. The manager Hector was also so extremely helpful, nice and very funny. I will definitely be returning here!
Great service and good food. We ordered Chicken Avocado Grille and Flat Iron Steak. Both were of high quality, the steak was very well prepared - just like we asked. And the grilled chicken was juicy. All in all, would recommend this place.
Also, my husband forgot his sunglasses there once and picked them up two days later - no problem at all:)
