Delicious Everytime. The flavor is consistent everytime. The service was good and took care of us. Be prepared to order online, this service makes it simple and clear. Looking for a fun city vibe sushi this is your place. Located close to the capital with many shops surrounded.
The sushi wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. The spider roll is all unseasoned crab salad. Actually, that’s basically what every roll is . The veg tempura was good for three pieces. You order off your phone and pay before you get your food so the staff have little incentive to give good service. We ordered two very small apps, some very thin salmon nigiri and three rolls for about $60. I can’t recommend this place to anyone.
Cute location but was a little tricky to find within the mall/market area. I had a rainbow roll and some nigiri. Seared salmon and tuna nigiri were the highlight of the plate. Ordering and payment are via app, only real issue with that is tip needs to be determined before anything is actually brought to your table. Not a knock on 503 Sushi, really, but with the way the ordering and payment are done.
Went in earlier today on my way to work. Service was great. But during my lunch as I was eating my sushi rolls I found a piece of hair. I took it out thinking it might of been mine but then found three more intertwined. Ended up throwing away the rest of the rolls and the chicken rice bowl I ordered. I usually go to this place and it is the first time this has happened to me. Besides that everything else was great but I couldn't stomach eating the rest.
The food is good, but the portion sizes are NOT consistent. I went there for lunch and order 2 beef noodle dish and received plenty of meat on my meal. I returned the same day for dinner and ordered the exact same dish, Udon noodles, sushi, and some appetizers for dinner. I surprised to see very small amount of meat on the dinner dish.
For example, lunch portion seemed to be like a cup of meat, dinner portion size of meat was like a table spoon size of meat.
Extremely disappointed I was charged more for this dish just to receive MUCH meat. The portion size should be the same if not better for the dinner portion, definitely not smaller than lunch portion size! When I called the restaurant to address my concerns the female employee replied I am sorry that you feel that you did receive the right amount of meat on your order is there anything else I can help you with?
She totally dismissed me!
I returned the next following week my experience was totally different.
I did not bring up the poor experience.
I had the last time I visit the restaurant.
I decided to put it in my review.
The staff tends to have a very good attitude towards the customers.
This place has some of the best views of downtown Salem. If you like people watching, & sushi (delicious!). I was a little thrown at first by there online credit card ordering but it's actually very convenient
Easily some of the best sushi in the Salem area! I’ve had it several times now, and it always tastes delicious and fresh, it’s prepared quickly, and I think it’s well-priced for sushi! I’ve only had it to go, so I don’t know what the in-restaurant presentation is like, but even when packed to go, the food looks good. I highly recommend trying this place out!
Imagine a place where the vibrant culture of Japan meets the cozy corners of Salem, Oregon. This is 503 Sushi, a culinary gem nestled in the historic Reed Opera House, where every bite is a journey to the heart of Asian cuisine.
As you step into 503 Sushi, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that’s both inviting and exciting. The decor strikes a perfect balance between traditional and modern, with touches that pay homage to sushi’s rich heritage. The staff welcomes you with the warmth of a long-lost friend, ensuring that your dining experience starts on a high note.
The menu is a treasure trove of delights, each dish crafted with the freshest ingredients and an eye for artistic presentation. The Spicy Tuna Roll dances on the palate with just the right kick of heat, while the Oregon Roll is a local twist that’s as inventive as it is delicious1. For those seeking a culinary spectacle, the Volcano Roll erupts with flavors that are both bold and refined1.
But it’s not just the food that makes 503 Sushi a must-visit destination. It’s the experience. The chefs are maestros of their craft, slicing and dicing with a precision that’s mesmerizing to watch. The service is impeccable, with a team that’s attentive without being intrusive, ensuring your glass is always full and your needs are promptly met.
And when the meal comes to an end, you’ll find yourself lingering, not wanting to leave the little oasis of joy you’ve found. 503 Sushi isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a place where memories are made, where every visit feels like a special occasion.
