I had a taste for some fish last night, and actually forgot about this place.. So I stopped by and got a 7 piece whiting.. The young man that took my order was very pleasant.. The fish was so good!. Hot and fresh.. I'll definitely be back.
Great spot with kind and personable staff with excellent quality food. Had the shrimp and flounder basket and can say with confidence, probably some of the best I've ever had. Everything was super fresh and piping hot. The fries are perfectly seasoned and it was fantastic. Will be back for sure!
Shady spot, but great food. Everything was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. Service was good and pretty fast, didn't wait long.
Now...when I pulled up, wasn't sure I would get out, but it was a craving and I soldiered on. In the corner were about 4 or 5 maybe homeless people chillin out and in the car I pulled up next to by this corner were two old disheveled men smoking weed. When I returned with my food one guy had went to join the corner crew while the other remained still smoking.
I hope they can clear out the store front or maybe consider moving. Really great food but I wouldn't go alone or at night...
It's a good spot. The lady at the counter was on her phone and unenthusiastic, but the food is good. The portion on this sandwich is a good deal.
Awesome seafood location. Food was fresh and well prepared. I had the fried oyster basket, the wife had the shrimp tacos. My oysters came out quickly. Super hot and crispy. Tasting very fresh with s slight corn meal taste to the breading. They even asked when ordering how crispy I wanted them fried. Now that's a cook that knows fried oysters. My side, the Cole slaw was sweet and creamy and well chilled. The wife's shrimp tacos 2, were crispy and large. She loved the cilantro lime sauce included. Her hush puppies were crisp and slightly sweet.
Got my heart set on the catfish for our next visit.

My wife and I was visiting Greenville and looked up restaurants and decided to try this restaurant. When we entered we were immediately greeted with a hello. We made our order and paid and went to sit down. The young man brought our food and we began to enjoy our dinner. The food was beyond good!! The young man came back to our table and said he over charged us and gave us the correct change. I was blown away because you do not see honesty like that anymore. That young man is a true asset to the 42 Fry establishment. I wish every business or restaurant had honest people like him. I will tell all the people I know who will visit Greenville to stop by this restaurant. Keep up the good work
Great commercials so we had to check it out. Serves Whiting, catfish and tilapia or shrimp, chicken tenders or oysters. I was hoping to find Cod but no luck. We tried the Whiting and shrimp basket at lunch. The food was good perfectly, fish was done nicely with a crust on the outside and tenderness on the inside. It only came with 4 shrimp at a decent size but somewhat disappointed with only getting 4. I may come back to try the catfish or oysters but it boarders 3 - stars.

This was my first experience at 42 Fry. The atmosphere is welcoming, the cashiers great you and are nice. The one that helped was very knowledgeable of the menu and had good recommendations. I decided to try the shrimp basket with the roasted corn. I actually met one of the owners right when I walked in. He is very nice and is open to feedback on all of his customers experiences.
The shrimp had a good taste and season to them. The roasted corn was good, but I had to get another batch. I paid the $3.50 for 2 pieces of corn instead of one. My corn was cold in the middle. The roasted part was hot, but the corn was not hot all the easy through. Maybe make sure the corn is cooked all the way, then roast a little on the outside. Other than that, I had a grat experience and will return to try some other menu items.
With my family being from Eastern NC, I am always looking for a good seafood place to get some hot fish and great shrimp.
