This restaurant has become our go-to for special occasions. We celebrated my birthday here a while back, and just recently returned for our anniversary.
The food is reliably good. We've always enjoyed our meals – everything is well-prepared and flavorful, with an emphasis on quality ingredients.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance that works well for a celebration. It's elegant but still comfortable.
Service is attentive and friendly, which adds to the overall experience.
We'll definitely be back again.
The food was good, but it wasn't knock-your-socks-off amazing for the price we paid. Fun and delicious selection of mocktails. Service was impeccable, though. The server was perfectly attentive but not overbearing, and the food and drinks came out quickly. Recommend if you get the lobster pasta to get the half portion unless you're starving.
Excellent all around. It is rare to dine at a restaurant many times across a number of years and never have a bad experience, but that is the case with 2941 for my family. Recently, my husband and I held our rehearsal dinner in the Waterfall Room and received excellent reviews from our guests. Beautiful grounds for photos. Would definitely recommend for special occasions, special events, or simply dining out.
Good location for a date night with your partner or a more elevated meal. We chose to get their Chef's Tasting menu for dinner and the food really varied. We started off with the Exotic Spritz and Mulish mocktails which were strongly flavored, not bad but not super interesting to us, although aestheticly pleasing.
The Italian Chestnut Tart was great, the Japanese Mero was tasty but salty and the clams had sand in them. The Crispy Dumplings were a pretty big disappointment and the worst dish of the night - it was pretty bland and the spicy sauce did not go along with it well, I think store brought dumplings would've been better. This course was saved though when they accidentally served me a Mushroom Truffle Gnocchi dish that was the special of the day which was really good!
The Cabernet risotto was good, and so were both the dessert options. Overall the food was pretty solid, with a couple misses in the quality and taste. It was a very heavy mushroom and truffle menu so it was very one toned. An expansion into more varieties and seasonal ingredients would have rounded out the menu more.
Our server was wonderful and attentive. We parked in the garage though and had issues leading into the restaurant since we came from the back. Having someone more attentive to greet you and walk guests to the main desk would've been a nice touch.
My husband and I dined here for a date night dinner on a Friday evening. Although we had a reservation for 8pm, we waited about 20 min for our table. There were a few other couples waiting as well, so I guess they were just behind that evening. We were given champagne while we waited with sincere apologies for the wait. I knocked off a star for atmosphere because for such an elegant and romantic venue, it was very bright. Could use a little more mood lighting. The service once we were seated made up for the wait for our table.
Once we were seated, we were greeted by our waitress, Lauren, that asked if we had any allergies (she noted they have a very allergy/gluten friendly kitchen) before walking us through the seasonal five course Chef Tasting menu we selected. She was amazing! Attentive, personable, and excited about the food and its descriptions, which made us equally as excited to eat it. Everything was as delicious as she described. And she recommended some options for our return trip.
I opted to add the wine pairing to my tasting menu, while my husband opted for their classic old fashioned. The old fashioned was delicious. Kayla, my assistant sommelier, was amazing as well. She is extremely passionate about what she does, and her vivid descriptions of the wines and their history took you to where it was made. It was hard not down just down the wine from excitement while she was describing it. I instead paced myself to enjoy it with the paired course.
Maria kept our table cleared and reset for each course. She was very professional and kind, which added to our overall experience.
We were running short on time, so we did not get to walk the grounds to enjoy the Koi pond and gardens, but we will definitely be back.
We celebrated our anniversary here and were pleased with everything. The food was well presented and flavourful; the service was attentive and friendly; and the atmosphere was "fancy" with most of the clientele being people in suits who likely work nearby. The outside garden is well kept and easily visible from the big windows. Great experience.
Another amazing evening of food, wine and service. Been dining here over ten years and never fails to impress. Try the Prix fix, chef’s specials, they’re always great.
Exquisite and hidden gem are the words that immediately come to mind when describing 2941 Restaurant with its floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook a beautiful lake and the surrounding koi ponds and waterfalls. The food was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the French influenced tasting menu and the service was exceptional. Shout out to our server Michael who made the experience that much more enjoy!
