Best WLM Reviews
We ate in the take out section but now I realize we should have eaten in the main restaurant which had a nice feel. The food was solid. My breakfast sandwich was fresh and made perfectly. The cinnamon roll was ok but not great. My fruit was fresh cut and chilled
This is NOT the 2510 that Wausau folks are accustom to...
It's my birthday. We arrived at 4:15pm, knowing that it gets busy in an hour. Already told that our wait would be 20 minutes even though 80% of the restaurant was empty. Not a big deal. Waited in the bar for our table.
Seated at 4:30 and ordered drinks + appetizers. Things are slow, but still acceptable. Got our curd, drinks and ordered our food. Then we waited...and waited...and waited...and waited. Halfway thru our wait our hostess stopped by and apologized. Then we continued to wait...and wait.
When the food finally arrived the meal that I ordered was extremely overcooked. Like way beyond what it should have been. Spoke to the hostess who brought out the manager.
I was told that the meal would be deducted from the bill. I hope so since I wouldn't eat a single bite of it. I received a voucher for a "birthday do over" that needed to be redeemed in the next 90 days. They also gave me my birthday cake slice and said they would deduct it from my bill. 6 bucks for a slice of cake haha.
In the end we spent 2 hours there to be seated at a non busy time and to basically get a drink and an appetizer.
Won't be using the "do over" voucher or going back anytime soon. We could hear the kitchen staff from our table and it sounded like an absolute disaster. I don't blame the manager on staff or the waitress. They were just trying to do their job. 2510 is just so understaffed that if you go, expect a long wait and less than delicious food. I heard the same complaints from the people seated in front and behind us.
Sad. I use to love coming here for my birthday and spinning the wheel. This time I told the waitress not even to bring it out. I just wanted to leave.
If I could give negatives I certainly would!!!
We haven’t been to 2510 in a while and decided to go for our anniversary. It was at 3 in the afternoon and they were not busy!
The waitress was literally rude right away. We ordered some sodas and appetizer. She came back a while later with the appetizer and sodas—not sure why we didn’t get the beverages right away. She never came back until the food was ready. I had asked for no bacon but it came with bacon on it. We asked for refills as she didn’t even offer to refill the drinks.
She took the plate and came back in about 1 minutes…apparently scrapping the bacon off was good enough. She set it down and left. No sorry-nothing. She NEVER CAME BACK.
Then she asked if I wanted a box. I asked her if they just scrapped the bacon off. She rudely said I don’t know how they fix it.
I said well I took a bite and there was a chunk of bacon.
She said I’ll just take that meal off.
Oh my goodness, I still can’t believe this is - 2510 waitress. There was literally only a few other tables with people.
When we left we both said we will never go back! I suggest finding a place with good service and people that actually care about people—even maybe an apology for not getting to correct and then leaving a chunk of bacon in the food!!!
Very poor service on 12-13-24., Had to give our waitress the non alcoholic drink order 3 times,Took 45 minutes to
receive..As for our food order, at 1 hour asked when it coming. We waited 1 hour & 20 minutes to arrive. My fiancee was shorted a side..Have Never Ever waited that long..I see many poor reviews lately. In the past usually had great service. The waitress we had needs to find a NEW line of work.Probably will not go back for a while. Service was actually one half star.
Deli side--
Wow! I got the apple fritter french toast and the bf got an ultimate croissant, the flavors were amazing, I could tell everything was scratch made, the ham was aaactually ham, and the maple syrup was real. It would have been nice to have a full service breakfast there, I didn't like needing to get up and get more coffee, but it's not that big of a deal. Maybe that's why it's not packed like the other breakfast restaurants? idk...
I will be back, I heard they are popular for their chicken pot pies, selling upwards of 100/day! So that will be the next stop back.
2510 used to be quite nice. Excellent food, service and menu selections. For the past 8-10 years, we have been stopping back, hoping that the excellence returns. Sadly, things just keep getting poorer. The food was sub standard, and we were seated for 15 minutes before our server finally stopped and asked if we were ready to order appetizers. We were honestly just about to leave, but stayed. Longer than expected wait for the food to arrive. My steak salad (6 steak bits) was so overpowered with bleu cheese that no other flavors were evident. My wife's tenderloin tips were nearly solid mushrooms and gravy. The few tips were flavorless. I guess we'll check back in another year or so.
It was Bill's 76th birthday and we celebrated at 2510. We got there at 4:36pm and were back home by 6:07pm.
Everything was very good. We started with the very yummy onion frills followed by a salad for Bill and the French Onion soup for me. Bill had the Filet Mignon with wild rice and gorgonzola sauce. I debated on multiple entrees and decided to try the Butternut Squash Ravioli.
It was so good! We brought home so much food, including onion frills. Lindsay was our waitress. She was very attentive but also very busy even at that hour. Yet, our food was timely, and we had time to chat between courses.
We read the negative reviews before we went but it wasn't our experience at all. We have been to 2510 many times in the past. It was my mother's favorite restaurant since she worked next door for years for an insurance company. They definitely delivered quality.
The food was okay I guess. The drinks were affordable I suppose, but nothing special. The atmosphere (for dinner) was odd. I’m guessing they were short staffed because there was plenty of seating, but a wait to sit down. The seating arrangements were odd. Half the people were on one end of the building and others on the opposite. It seemed like they segregated the older crowd.
Then things went south. As we were eating a there was a family that got seated near us. There was a middle aged man we had noticed sitting at the bar as we waited and when they sat down he was belligerently drunk. When he stood up he had to basically struggle to not fall over. When the waiter came over the man promptly proceeded to ask his server where he was from because he didn’t look or sound like he was from the country. The waiter tried to uncomfortably play it off, which I don’t blame him as the gentleman was wearing a certain political hat…one not usually a sign of someone welcoming to people maybe not from the country. Thankfully he left his family to just drink at the bar so our meal was fairly quiet. We only saw him return when we were getting up to leave because they were closing the bar…sadly the restaurant decided to give him two beers to take back to his table. Pretty bad sight considering he should have been cut off half a case earlier.
Not that this is a shocking sight in Wausau, but I wasn’t expecting trashy dive bar atmosphere when going to this establishment. We like to try new places in Wausau, but this one was a mistake.
