First off the room we stayed in had been remodeled. It was nice clean and new. I loved that it was laminate floors throughout. Service was great. The manager was so helpful and when we needed more coffee it was brought right away. Location was my favorite part. It was on the north side of the island away from the loud parties but had a shuttle option if you wanted to go downtown. Also the pools were so nice!
We loved our stay at this hotel. Priced well and lots of amenities. Huge lobby with a welcome Champagne drink. Pool was decent size and a huge lawn with chairs etc. You have to choose breakfast during booking your room. Room is okay size and we got the ocean view with a little extra charge. Have to pay for parking and shuttle to downtown. The travel agent on site was helpful as we booked a snorkeling and kayaking tour and sand beach with unlimited drinks. We got a discount as it was my son’s birthday. There’s also a Starbucks in the building.
There are pros and cons to here:
1. Gates Hotel and 24 North are the same hotel essentially- they share amenities and a check-in lobby.
2. I asked for an “ocean-view” room and was informed only 24 north had those rooms available, not Gates (where I was originally booked). The said they can make a change, but it took over an hour to get checked in. Once we got the ocean-view room, we quickly realized that means outside the front door, and it’s not truly ocean view. No big deal, but crazy they charge extra for that.
3. Every day during our stay, our door would randomly be opened by house keeping, and when I questioned them, the housekeeping manager Natalia refused to let me in my room until I “proved” I was staying there. She made me open my room door in front of her before she stopped harrasing me.
Weird experience overall- you truly get what you pay for here.. the resort is decent. Just temper your expectations for decency/service.
Edit: I had to lower to one star since they keep going into our room without permission. Don’t expect privacy here.

The front desk sometimes does not answer the phone. The hotel is noisy. They charge for stuff not earned. We booked on expedia and no resort fee was shown and they charged us for a resort fee. The noise continued during our stay till 12:30 am. The security staff wouldn't listen to the front desk who asked them to turn it off. The night manager of the hotel didn't see to care. The staff manages three hotels in a row. Renovations were an issue for some. It's very over priced. You're much better off finding another hotel. People said that their faucets came off. The security people are a joke. There's a $50 resort fee to use the pool and the outside areas which is laughable. The Hampton Inn that we stayed at doesn't charge "hidden fees" I called Expedia and they claimed the hotel had emailed me and wouldn't offer my wife and I anything apart from $65 in fees. It's laughable this petty amount. Check your credit card if you do per other reviews.

My husband & I really enjoyed our stay last week, at 24 North. Some highlights are:
We loved being able to visit other resorts nearby.
The pool area was very sheltered from the wind and sunny. It felt nice and warm, even when it was a bit breezier on the island.
We loved the convenience of the shuttle! And the $5 price includes a free drink ticket (a drink would normally be more than $5, so great deal.)
Rooms were nice and clean. Newly remodeled.

The only reasons I am knocking off one star:
Poor water pressure
We arrived a bit early and were told our room would not be ready until 4:00. They said if we wanted to check in early, there would be a $35 charge (so wait- our room WAS ready?) We were very tired from flying and it would have been nice to check in early.
The area is not pedestrian friendly. (Not the resort’s fault) There are cool places within walking distance (Publix, TJ Maxx, Restaurants) but, not only is the sidewalk very close to the highway, people kept tearing past us on e-bikes going very fast, which was scary. Again, not the resort’s fault, but something to be aware of. Stick with the shuttle or Uber.
Housekeeping only cleaned once, during three night stay.
All said, though, I really did enjoy this hotel. I would recommend it and I would gladly stay there again!
Very nice remodeled property. Beautiful inside and out but a few things that were disappointing:
1. Room walls are paper thin (can hear everything)
2. No hot water when I took a shower at 9am Sunday morning
3. No bath gel soap in the dispenser in the room
The property definitely needs some fine tuning.
Very basic rooms. Clean. Room we originally booked was unavailable. Ended up facing the highway we were also right above the busy starbucks that shares the hotel space lots of car noise in and out. No concierge showed up for the time we were there. No garbage can in our room tried to get one, but I never did get it. Housekeeping every day was awesome. Always had clean towels and coffee pods. No continental breakfast. Did have a restaurant but we did not partake. Did have pool but also did not use. Plenty of the local wildlife. (Chickens) roosters also got in on the morning noise.
