Best WLM Reviews

Policy states that people under 17 need to be with adult but this place is like a boys and girls club with kids taking up all the hoops and makes it to where the adults can’t run pick up because of fear of hurting the kids. I’m spoken to other members that feel the same, not a good place for adults to play basketball. Phots was just of one side the other was also taken up by people under 18
**not a adult game friendly gym. New photos of a Friday night and there are middle school age kids taking up both sides of the courts and no parents in the gym making adult play impossible. Again gym does not uphold it’s own policy**
The entire place is not cleaned daily, if ever. Lots of broken equipment. Locker rooms are nasty. Talk to the manager Adam several times about getting things fixed without any progress. He was extremely disrespectful when I tried to bring up my concerns, asked for the number to corporate several times and he refused. Lights are not working throughout the entire building. Paper towel dispensers have been removed from bathrooms. Outdoor pool has been closed for years and looks dilapidated. After 12 years being a member at 24 hour I decided to cancel my membership and asked for a refund, Adam refused a resolution and hung up the phone. I called back and asked again for corporates phone number and he once again hung up.
I am saddened that this location will be closing soon despite its flaws. The workers have all been very nice to me from the start so I hope each one does well in their future. The manager was also very helpful in explaining how my current annual membership would be canceled and how the months not used would be refunded. So far, the membership has been canceled and $260 for the 10 months not being used has been refunded.
This gym offers a pretty good value for a monthly membership. The overall cleanliness is decent, but the facilities are starting to show their age and could use some upgrades.
I pay about $30 per month and $60 per year in membership dues. While I'm generally satisfied with the price point, it's clear the owners are trying to save money where they can. The locker rooms and cardio equipment in particular are in need of updates.
On the plus side, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I haven't had any issues with other members during my workouts.
My main suggestion would be for the gym to reinvest some of its profits back into renovating and replacing the older equipment. Updating the facilities would go a long way towards making the gym feel more modern and premium for the price point. However, I understand the financial pressures that go along with that as well.
Overall, if you're looking for an affordable gym option in the area, this place is worth considering. Just keep in mind the dated nature of some of the equipment and facilities.
325% increase in dues...
Thank you for expressing your concerns and allowing us to address them. Your Annual Renewal Dues are subject to the terms of your membership agreement and settlement of the class action lawsuit titled In re: 24 Hour Fitness Prepaid Memberships Litigation.
Settlement Class Members were mailed a Claim Form and Declaration by the Settlement Claims Administrator on December 27, 2017, which included instructions on how to secure your settlement benefits. Settlement Class Members who returned a valid Declaration (Qualifying Persons), attesting under penalty of perjury that a 24 Hour Fitness representative told them at the time they entered into a Prepaid Membership that the Annual Renewal Dues listed on the first page of their Prepaid Membership was guaranteed for life or that it would not increase in future years, received the benefit of a refund of any increases paid and had their Annual Renewal Dues amount reduced to the amount listed on the first page of their Prepaid Membership Agreement. Qualifying Persons are eligible to maintain their Annual Renewal Dues for as long as they timely pay and maintain their membership in good standing. The deadline to return the Declaration to the Claims Administrator was Feb 26, 2018.
If you did not return a valid Declaration (not a Qualifying Person) and did not previously receive an Annual Renewal Dues increase, you were eligible for an increase of either $45.00 or $90.00 (depending on your membership level) after July 9, 2018. After three consecutive renewal periods at the new increased rate, your Annual Renewal Dues will again be eligible for an increase.
Our records indicate that you did not return a valid Declaration (you are not a Qualifying Person) and are therefore subject to an increase of your Annual Renewal Dues. Please note, your membership is still an exceptional value, and your dues are well below current market prices. If you believe you did return a valid claim form, please provide documentation for further review.
We hope this clarifies your questions and hope to see you in the gym soon!

11/12/24 Update to following issue:
** There is response from the owner to reach out on contact us link. Well, As stated in the review below (image attached as well), All info including membership #/phone# and email has already been provided and submitted around 11/3/24. Looks like no one has gone thru pile of issues or anyone ever gets back to resolve issue except for posting the standard owner response i got to the review. So far, there is no email of the membership cancellation (Done without permission by Adam, forget he offering any help), no email of closing doors for this location Looks like this is the only way we can communicate with this business **
Not sure how many customers are affected due to closure of Murphy location (229 E Farm To Market 544, Murphy, TX 75094 ) but I bought 2 year membership for $389 Nov last year. I asked the reception (10/27/24), what happens to customers who paid for 2 years and and cannot make use of their membership. Response was - there will be prorated refund and i will get an email. Few days alter I check with the manager (Adam) on 11/3 that i haven't received any email per last interaction. He simply said its $389 for the first year and you get second year free. Now that you have already used 1st year - there wont be any refund and he went ahead and cancelled (without me approving) the remaining membership. He asked me to call customer service and there is no one to answer any call/ customer service prompts you to contact local fitness center. All they ask is to send email by filling details on web. Done that and no response. Cancellation done by Adam resulted in refund of $0.89 (yes 89 cents). Not sure how much of this is correct to charge $389 for 1 year when customer is not able to use services because they are shutting down location. I have no intention to cancel otherwise but they are closing the doors on me/ customers. Hopefully some one can chime in as how much do you agree!
I believe - they need to refund 50% as they wont be able to provide service for 50% of the remainder membership time.
I’ve had a really disappointing experience at this 24 Hour Fitness location. The bathroom is consistently out of order, and there’s only one functioning shower available, which makes it inconvenient and frustrating, especially during peak hours. The lack of proper maintenance makes it feel like they don’t care about providing a decent facility for their members. I hope they address these issues soon because this is far from the standard you’d expect from a 24 Hour Fitness gym.
This location is closing down soon. I heard from a friend who goes there all the time. I am a member there as well. But I prefer a different gym. I use this one as a backup. I have not had any communications of the closing from 24HR Fitness, but it is true. I don't even know why they call it 24HR Fitness; ever since covid this place has closed before midnight! So their solution is for people who go to this location to move to the location in Plano or Richardson, which are both significantly farther away. This is crazy. Plus they intentionally keep it really hot in there, which is why I go to a different gym. I do not recommend this company.
