22 Bowen was incredible. I ordered the Rice Crusted Tuna and it was immaculate. The service was beyond measure. Each and every member of the staff treated us with immense respect and politeness. The atmosphere was very nice and my girl friend and I enjoyed every minute. We celebrated our anniversary and the 22 Bowen staff signed a card that celebrated us. I highly suggest dining at the 22 Bowen, and I believe my girl friend and I will be back at least once a year.
We came here for our first meal in Newport and we were not disappointed. The service was great our server was just the right amount of fun while being extremely respectful. He had great recommendations and steered us towards dishes we ended up loving.
We had a discussion about my gluten allergy which was taken seriously and the waiter was knowledgeable on everything and even reassured us he would be confirming with the chef.
We started the meal splitting the wedge salad. When we said this the waiter automatically said we will split it in the kitchen and it came out perfectly portioned.
We were then surprised with gluten free rolls! They were warm and such a nice addition.
We got the chicken entree and the swordfish a la carte. The chicken was incredible. Some of the most flavorful and tender chicken I have had. The vegetables paired so nicely with it. The swordfish had a great flavor and was cooked perfectly. It came paired with a citrus butter which was great for extra flavor. We had a side loaded backed potato. It’s a potato but man was it a good one.
All in we were super satisfied with the food, the service and the atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here especially if you have a gluten allergy.
This restaurant is right near the water and very beautiful. It was busy, but the wait was not long at all. I ordered the chilled shrimp. Very fresh and tasty! For my entree, I ordered the lobster roll - warm garlic butter poached lobster on a buttered grilled brioche. It was perfect! So delicious. They also have a cold option. The service was great, as was the atmosphere. A beautiful day with family. It's such a great town!
An exceptional dining experience. We had a private table, next to the window, with a great view.The aged steaks, bacon wrapped scallops, mushrooms, salads, and wine were spectacular. We didn’t want it to end.
My husband and I arrived in Newport right before lunch. We were strolling along the wharf looking at the different menus and we decided on 22 Bowen’s.
We had their lunch special of the Waldorf salad and a sandwich. The food was delicious! The salad was one of the best I’ve ever eaten and so fresh! Our server, Brittany was awesome! I had never eaten clam chowder so my husband ordered us a bowl to share. It was also delicious! Brittany took the time to talk with us and to give us suggestions about touring the area. I told her my husband wanted to eat lobster for dinner and she told us about their dinner menu. I asked her if there were other restaurants that would be open that would have lobster. She graciously told us of a couple of restaurants. I appreciated her honesty.
Dinner time rolled around and I told my husband that I wanted to go back to 22 Bowen’s for dinner. We enjoyed our lunch experience so much, I honestly didn’t want to go anywhere else.
Dinner was exceptional! We ordered the filet and it was the most delicious steak I’ve ever eaten. It was so tender, I could have cut it with a fork. My husband ordered lobster tail and he ate every bite! Ivan, our server, was gracious enough to have our meal split for us to share. My husband loves an IPA, so Ivan recommended the Captain’s Daughter double IPA. My husband said it was a great IPA.
Dessert was the pumpkin crème brûlée. The perfect dessert.
I told my husband I want to fly back to Newport just to eat at 22 Bowen’s. ????
Enjoyed a few beers and shared some appetizers and an entree at their outdoor bar while waiting for our boat tour of Narragansett Bay. We had the crab cakes, lobster bisque and fish and chips, all of which were delicious! Friendly service, great food, drink and atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! ????????
Attended a team dinner for our manager retirement and the food did not disappoint! We were a party of 11-13 and we all enjoyed our food. Our server was very attentive as we did not have to chase her down for service.
I had the lamb w/ baked potato, glazed carrots and key lime pie! I ordered my lamb med well and it was cooked to perfection, the potato wasn't dried out and flavorful. The key lime pie had a very strong Citrus flavor, almost a lemony flavor still was good, but wasn’t expecting such a burst of citrus. The carrots were good too, I really need that recipe(lol).. I would most likely order the Key lime pie again and for sure will be back for that lamb and potato.
Dinner at 22 Bowen’s was such a treat! Our waiter was so attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was delicious. We loved our upstairs, inside table that looked onto the wharf. My steak was perfectly medium rare, and the cocktails were wonderful. They do not seat until 5:00pm on the dot, so we did a lap around the pier when we were a little early. Would definitely recommend!!
