We had the most magical experience staying at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is absolutely incredible for any art lover! The museum is open 24 hours which is so cool and the modern art is just stunning. We arrived very late in the evening and Fatima so sweetly already had our keys pulled, rooms assigned and even offered to handle getting our vehicle passed off to Valet as they were already gone for the evening. She was so kind and helpful and overall made it such a welcoming experience. We will definitely be back here!
The rooms are nice and spacious. The hotel staff is super helpful and kind. Specifically, Helen, who checked us in, was so nice and accommodating. The elevators are tiny but fast. Haven’t checked out the museum yet but there’s interesting art all over. The restaurant is nice and pricey and the food was kind of meh.. but it’s got happy hour 4-6 daily. You also get 21% off as a hotel guest which makes it a little better value.
We were genuinely excited to celebrate my wife’s birthday at this hotel, which we found beautifully advertised and appealing. The Gallery on the premises is a special touch. However, our experience was disappointing from the start.
Upon arrival, we immediately noticed a considerable amount of hair on the bathroom walls. We contacted the front desk and appreciated the offer to switch rooms, but unfortunately, the second room also had similar cleanliness issues, including stained pillowcases and a malfunctioning fridge.
When we called back to report these problems, the response felt abrupt. Even after housekeeping attended to the room (which we had to seat and wait for 20-30 minutes while the Housekeeper was cleaning the bathroom), we still found hair on the bathroom floor, leading us to clean it ourselves—a frustrating situation, especially for a special occasion.
Additionally, the carpet in the room was in poor condition, with visible stains and a dusty odor. The room also had various dents and marks that indicate it’s in need of touch-ups and upgrades.
Throughout our two-night stay, a persistent banging noise from the hallway disrupted our sleep, leaving us exhausted and dissatisfied.
Additionally it was a challenge to charge our electrical devices because there is only one outlet in the room which is located over 6 ft away from the bed table.
Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed. The money we've paid did not reflect the quality of hospitality we experienced.
I vacate, or as I call it “evacuate” during Thanksgiving week to commemorate a very difficult experience I lived through a couple years ago. This year it was Chicago. From check in to check out the staff were the stars. They were so warm and helpful and understanding when I had a difficult day (anniversary of a difficult day). The desk staff was exceptional as were everyone I encountered in my stay. I am the manager of a restaurant so service is important when I’m not taking care of others and the whole staff welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home. The restaurant staff (not technically affiliated) were also top north. The location was close enough to the action, convenient to transit and super convenient to amenities like Trader Joe’s, restaurants and shopping. Room was comfortable clean and the whole property was top notch. The art installations were wonderful and there are little tucked away nooks where one can just go, sit and relax. Water bottles were beyond impressive (you can refill them and take them home) and very appreciated when exploring the city. Perfect place to jump into Chicago and explore. Highly recommend especially for solo travelers like me.
My wife and I just had our wedding at 21C on 11/23. In short it was amazing. The hospitality was top notch. Our suite was decked out with snacks, champagne and decorations. Cristina Aviles was an absolute pleasure to work with. She made our day so special and we cannot thank her and the 21C staff enough. The space was beautiful and the food and drinks were great. We loved having our wedding here and would highly recommend it to anyone considering!
Over the summer I discovered 21c Museum Hotel Chicago as they are a preferred partner with Fora, and I’m so glad I did! My boyfriend and I visited Chicago with friends for their first time, and 21c made our trip so much more memorable.
The rooms were fantastic—spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for the four of us to hang out during downtime between our jam-packed itinerary. The location was super convenient, making it easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. Whether it was a short Uber ride, a bike ride, or a walk, everything felt close and accessible.
The museum aspect of the hotel was such a unique touch—it added so much character and gave us something fun and different to explore right on-site.
The staff was outstanding! The reservations team was excellent to work with during the planning process, and the front desk staff upon arrival went above and beyond. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and full of helpful recommendations that made getting around the city seamless.
My friends loved their stay just as much as we did. If we find ourselves in Chicago again, we’ll definitely be back at 21c!
Room was very clean and neat. Loved the museum and the security guards were friendly. Wish we would have known about more of the perks when we first arrived, but when l checking out, Fatima was very friendly and knowledgeable and educated us if our perks for next time. She even ordered us a cab. Thank you, Fatima <3
Museum is fascinating and the hotel sits roght above it the front staff (specifically Fatima) was absolutely wonderful. We were caught in a snow storm and they were so kind as to help us with a very late check in. The rooms are clean and comfortable, as well as upscale. The bathroom is finally a hotel bathroom worthy of taking a bath in!!
