My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in Newport Beach. We have been to Newport several times in the past, but never to 21 Oceanfront. We started at the bar, with great service, drinks, and a spectacular view of the ocean. A gentleman strumming a guitar and singing made the experience even better.
Our reservations were at 8pm. We were seated promptly by a personable hostess to a table, and the outstanding view of the ocean continued.
Our waitress was amazing. Polite, friendly, outgoing, and competent.
The food, top notch. We started with the lobster salad. My wife ordered the 8pm Sea Bass, and she claimed the best dish she had eaten in quite a while. I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna dinner, very tasty.
Overall, it is a great location, people and food. We are looking forward to our next meal at 21 Oceanfront.
I was visiting the area for work and decided to ball out my last night somewhere nice. This place is the definition of “fine dining” and was amazing in every aspect. My Cabernet was so smooth and paired well with my dinner. The seafood linguine had all the best seafood mixed in and was very filling. Had great service as they were all very attentive for anything I needed.
Classic chic restaurant in the heart of beautiful New port pier with friendly staff and an average food. We ordered medium well steak but it was more like well done and tasted very ordinary, clam chowder soup was cold and tasteless.
This is a very nice, fancy place. The waiters are attentive and the personnel in general is very good. We had the manager come to the table as well during the visit to check if everything is good. It is an expensive restaurant, but it is worth it, for sure. The food is very well-prepared and delicious. We even got a piece of cake, since we had a birthday celebration dinner. It was a wonderful experience.
This was my first time trying swordfish. It was suggested by my waitress, and it was amazing. My Old Fashioned was made to perfection. The sunset was spectacular, great ambiance.
The food itself was mediocre at best. I ordered the purple potatoes(bland but dipped in ranch you can’t go wrong with potatoes), wedge burger(dry), lobster Mac & cheese(was ok, not spectacular). Not worth the price & hype. I could say my expectations were high, I really thought the food would wow me. But the ahi nachos up the street from Roof Top Lounge were 100000000% better than all of those items. I ordered the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Everyone RAVED over it. Unfortunately, it fell short as well. It was my least favorite. When I poured the sauce on, there were chunks. The flavor was bland. BUT the staff were kind. So I’d give staff 5/5 stars, & the food 2/5. I stayed above the restaurant, & was here for 3 days. Hoping to have a better turn out next time I stay & eat here. The free bread & butter were very good. 5/5 on that.
Great experience, romantic atmosphere. They had live music (Sunday night). Food was delicious. Definitely adding this venue to my list of favorites for extravagant dinning.
Went here for valentines day, they had a rose on every table, and of course a real candle.
Waiters were attentive, courteous and useful with recommending menu items. Recommended wine pairing was fantastic. Desserts were great, good portion for a single or two people.
Atmosphere dark, inclusive, noise volume depends on the number of people/guests, but wasn't overly noisy.
overall it was a pleasant experience. Unfort one small strange unpleasant interaction. We arrived early so were asked to go to the bar to wait for our table. We ordered drinks and were enjoying them for over 10 min, then were abruptly disturbed by a male host who was extremely unpleasant, ordering us to take our seats at the bar. We were standing in front of our stools. He was very rude to one of my guests… and raised his voice in a very unacceptable way. This was a business dinner, and his behavior was completely unacceptable and embarrassing. There were MANY more elegant and effective way to achieve his goal, and getting into a verbal altercation with one of my guest was NOT APPROPRIATE. I would expect much more from this level of establishment. Overall the rest of the meal was quite good, and our server was wonderful, but they need to work on the front of the house interactions.
