Best WLM Reviews
It’s been a while since we’ve been here, and came after the Georgetown lighting festival.
We had a large group of almost 10 and two toddlers.
It was the perfect setting for a large group! Spacious, clean and ample room for the toddlers to run around.
The service was amazing! Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Most restaurants add a 20% automatic gratitude tip, but it was nice that this restaurant was the exception! Our food was quickly prepared, and overall pretty tasty.
My husband and I ate here and everything was fantastic. From the service to the food, we had a great experience. The cheeseburger mac was the perfect combination of flavors and spice (but not too much!). His was the chicken parm and it was melt in your mouth good. We shared the key lime pie which was like a happy party in your mouth, highly recommended this restaurant if only for pie. Our waitress Ashley was very friendly and provided awesome service.
From food to management, bartenders and servers! This place is a 10/10! My go to lunch spot and now after work spot with my little sis! I love their Club 20/20 and Fiery Fowl Salmon and Chicken salad. I also love the Shrimp Ravioli! I can’t wait to try more of the apps like the nachos I keep hearing everyone talk about. Oh and obviously the drinks wont disappoint at this spot their Bartenders are AMAZING!!!!!
The food was good, but not next level for me. Which is ok! I just didn't find my pallette choice. Personally, I was not fond of the country gravy.
But, good food, and even better Bourbon selection! It was nice and clean, friendly staff - with a very professional feel. The atmosphere is comfortable and food was out promptly.
I would recommend the brownie sundae and key lime pie!
We went here for a super late lunch/super early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and was seated immediately.
The waitress took our drink order and we ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer after reading other reviews about them. They were delicious. Not sure what all was in them but I do remember seeing apples, bacon, nuts (I think). They had a BBQ sauce kind of taste but with a twist. Can’t describe it. You’ll just have to try them yourself.
I ordered the coastal seafood enchiladas which were simply delicious with that creamy red pepper sauce and cumin lime crema!
My husband ordered the WAGYU burger. He’s never tried WAGYU before so he wanted to see if he could taste the difference. He said it tasted better than a Freddy’s burger- which is his favorite.
With two bar drinks, appetizer and two meals, it was right around $100. I thought it was definitely worth the price paid for a delicious meal out!
We did not order a dessert. Was too full to even think about it!
The funniest thing about this place is the fact that I found it based solely upon the fact that it fell within the "middle" of 2 locations. I met an old military buddy here. Old Jarhead ????. He loved it! I gave him a piece of my chop and he was convinced that he was returning. Now...on to the review.
If you have read my reviews, I am blatantly honest.
Depending on which way you are being mapped by Google, you will somehow get stuck behind the valet parking service. Not the best idea to have "waiting cars" at the entrance of a 1-lane road. I didn't know what the holdup was nor why there was an empty car sitting in the road. It impedes the right-of-way for every car behind it. Now you are faced with waiting for oncoming traffic to free up so that you can go around it. Add on patrons walking to and from the restaurant because this is all taking place right by the entrance. Parking is competitive. The restaurant is nestled in a beautiful bustling community of businesses and apartment homes. Although I parked in the far back of a dimly lit area ????...I felt safe. Yes, simply because of the surroundings.
There was a wait. I don't know what it's like on a daily basis but, this was a Friday night at 6. We patiently waited by the dessert display case. The waiting seating/area is limited and blocks the entrance. They have room to expand and if it's always this packed, I would think about moving the "to go" parking for expansion. On this night, any "high" table was up for grabs. We ended up sharing a table with a couple and their grandson. Lovely pair. I opened a conversation by asking the female for suggestions. She raved about the brussels and ribs. Both of which were on the appetizer menu. HE didn't want brussels so...I chose guacamole instead. I never received the lime so I used the lemon from my water to zest up the guacamole. The big chips were plenty enough. By the time our entrees arrived the older couple was gone and a couple more our age was next to us. Everyone at the table was staring at my dish. Let me go back and describe the seating situation.
In the bar area are several 8-top, rectangular, high tables. If the chair is empty, you can sit there without a wait. At any point in the night, different people are sitting at the same table. I call that a form of "community dining".
Now back to the deliciousness...
My porch chop was grilled to perfection. Beneath the chutney were beautiful cross bars - a grillers pride and glory. Juicy, flavorful and thick. The carrots were just as delicious. The added plus of the sweet and savory runoff juices from the chop added to the flavor mix of the carrots. The couple was in awe so much so that the gentleman had to ask me what I ordered. I gladly told him and offered him a bite. My Jarhead openly admitted that he liked my dish more than his own.
The atmosphere was bustling in and out of the restaurant. Loved it.
Again, found out of a simple zoom. I lucked out! Go go go!!
The citrus salmon and fresno salad is my favorite dish in the area! The portions are generous, food is always flavorful, and service is friendly. The bacon cheeseburger mac is ridiculous haha Definitely comfort food and super filling. In the past I did have the shrimp and grits without pork belly and my fiance has had the manny burger - both were delicious. The only time we were let down was when a friend was visiting and got the Fiery Fowl. There was like a teaspoon of sauce on the chicken so it was super dry and wasn’t spicy at all (despite being labeled as “super spicy”).
We went here for a good brunch on a Sunday morning. The place was quite full and we were lucky to get a table quickly. The service was quite good and the server was kind. The food was a bit of a disappointment. The patty melt was okay but could have had a bit more cheese. The bacon was dry and did not seem fresh. The omlette could have used more seasoning and salt. Even the sauce was less. We asked the steak to be cooled medium rare but was cooked above medium which was also a but of disappointment. It lacked seasoning too. It feels disappointing to pay top dollar in a cafe in such a good location and the food comes out underseasoned.
