Best WLM Reviews

The atmosphere is kinda blah. The carpet looked filthy at first glance. We asked for hot tea and they said they ran out of tea. How are you outnof tea? We ordered an appetizer and 2 meals. The spring rolls used to be good until they took the mint and cilantro out. I ordered the pork belly special. The pork belly was deep-fried until it was leather and dried out. The rice portion is smaller than it used to be. When the waitress carried out my side of curry sauce, it was sloshing around, and she was holding the bowl with her thumb in it. She had nail extensions, and her thumb and filthy underside of fake nails was inside the curry sauce. That was absolutely disgusting, so I didn't eat it. Look at the portion size in the picture. It's the size of a kid meal, and they charged me $17.00 for that mess. The owner made no attempt to offer any compensation for the trouble we encountered so I won't go back.
My man has been talking this place up for a while though we finally went yesterday. The servers are simply the best! Attentive without seeming disingenuous, so polite in recommendations with an almost intuitive sense of what we needed. The atmosphere was rather basic, not a lot of garish decor. The food was seriously phenomenal. We highly recommend the pho, warm, rich, and medicinal in nature, hands down the best in Minnesota at the very least. I also recommend their pad Thai but I will warn as the servers do, don't go too spicy. I loved the cream cheese puffs as well. Definitely 100% recommend this spot for it's service, gracious portions, and amazing flavors. We will be back again
I am updating my review from over 7 years ago. It has been my favorite all of this time!
1st of thai is my favorite restaurant in the entire state of MN. The food quality is unmatched and it is so delicious. Anything I have ever tried has been supreme. Also the staff are very friendly and it’s a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Faribault is lucky to have this restaurant.
I used to come here often when I lived in Faribault many years ago. I was in the area and decided to stop here for lunch. I ordered my favs: egg rolls, beef laab and the red curry.
The food & service was just as I remembered: exceptional & delightful! The staff is always so friendly and accommodating as well-Thank you!
I ordered the hot and spicy Vietnamese style with tofu for delivery. The meal was delicious! It was spicy as it states, with a sweetness to the sauce. The lemongrass shines through as well. The meal was delivered quickly and was hot when I received it. I would definitely recommend and would have again!
This was my very first time eating Thai. My husband has eaten it before and he said this was 5 star food. We started with tofu and chicken satay. I've never had tofu but it completely confused my brain. It had a nice firm outside while the inside was soft. The sauce it came with was good too so that helped the taste of the tofu. The chicken satay was delicious. Their peanut sauce has a little kick but not too overwhelming. My husband ordered the egg drop soup and Bamee Raadna. He said it was hands down the best egg drop soup he's ever had. He said the Bamee Raadna was absolutely phenomenal too. He ordered his at a level 3 spicy. I ordered the param longson with chicken. The flavor profile was great but I had a hard time handling the heat of the curry. Next time I'm going to order it with as little heat as possible. We ended the meal with a khao sang khaya Thai and oh my goodness. The mango was fresh, the coconut wasn't overwhelming, the sweet rice had a great flavor and a good texture. This was a great first experience for me.
This place has amazing food. The egg rolls are nice and crunchy, dishes are large portions and scrumptious! Pictured is Pad Ped with Shrimp and Spicy Fried Rice with Pork. They offer option for heat scale of 1-5, where 2.5/3 is about a jalapeño. Waiter was very pleant and knowledgeable. Enjoyed our meal immensely.
Paid 62 dollars for chicken fried rice, chicken “lo mein”, spicy seafood stir fry, and some wings the rice was fresh but bland and the lo mein is literally a pack of ramen with chicken and vegetables I have never been more disappointed after ordering food at an Asian restaurant it’s fine if this is what you serve but charging full price is outrageous I picked my food up so I cannot comment on the service or atmosphere
