Best WLM Reviews

Came too late for brunch but had the wood fire pizza instead and it was truly delicious! Fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. And our cheese curds had the perfect batter on them. Service was excellent and Maddy made our experience so enjoyable. Christina was friendly and offered us many suggestions that were all delectable. Will be coming back for dinner sometime and will definitely check out the brunch with friends next time!
The name of this place does not give it justice, it's not your average bar and grill. The place is huge, it has indoor, outdoor, and partially outdoor seating. The service was great, but the best part was the firecracker shrimp. Look at the photo, the shrimp are jumbo, they were fried perfectly and the sauce I don't have the words to describe how good it is. Now if you are not a fan of spicy food this is not for you but for me it was the best thing. I will definitely be becoming a regular. Go and try them shrimp.
I had the Chicken Parmesan and Caesar salad. It was very good. My wife had a 12oz prime rib. It was very fatty and chewy. She shared her disappointment with our waitress and also with a man, presumably a manager. Neither seemed overly concerned about an unhappy customer. I would not recommend this restaurant for a prime rib dinner.
Have done a lot of dining around Madison and have never been as satisfied as I was with this place. I was super happy to go a little further east and find a restaurant that has a friendly face as soon as you walk in the door and great food! The name makes it sound like your average restaurant/bar, but it really doesn’t do this place justice. They serve a wide variety of food ranging from something a little more casual and approachable, along with higher end locally sourced dishes. We enjoyed the beef stroganoff special, beet salad, and prime rib sandwich, then finished off with a Brandy Alexander. Our server Ella was fantastic and never missed a beat. She was so attentive, accommodated changes, and gave great recommendations. Will be coming here again for sure!
I ordered the Thanksgiving meal kit. When I picked it up, the staff was so friendly and genuinely seemed thankful for my order. The meal was amazing! I love to cook, but I was looking for a no fuss Thanksgiving so I could spend more time with family than in the kitchen. I would definitely order the Thanksgiving meal kit again! I loved everything in it, even the cranberry sauce that I usually am not a fan of.
So many positives about 1855. Let's start with how beautiful & welcoming the restaurant is. Very large restaurant with a private room. Not only do they have a beautiful patio, they also have an enclosed type patio. Staff are wonderful, friendly - that's what I look for when dining anywhere. The nachos were huge & flavorful. I always say burgers are the best with a fresh bun & that's exactly what it was. I'm all about dessert, when you add how pretty the presentation is - I'm sold! Highly recommend 1855...
Beautiful place. I thiught the food was decent. We went to the bar first and then the last two people came, but the it took time for the bartenders to wait on them. Not busy for a Saturday night. Server was nice but didn't know if the soup was homemade. (Clam chowder). Had to ask for my brussel sprouts but I got a full serving. Prime rib was chewy. Turkey, bacon avocado wrap.good. my fish tacos were ok. The tenderloin and mashed potatoes were great. We had ice cream drinks, while they were good, they were a bit runny. We got the red raspberry rum cake one and I didn't taste any red raspberry rum. But it was good. We would return again.
After our Fall Day out at the pumpkin patch with the kids, this was a great stop for a late lunch. We sat inside and it was comfortable along with being able to see the Sunday night football game. Our drinks were excellent, and the food was really good. Only down side was the Spinach dip with chips seemed a little cold. It still tasted really good, but I'm sure would have been even better if it was still hot. The rest of the food was delicious. Absolutely going to come back.
