Best WLM Reviews

If you are near Seguin stop by the 1838 Grill. I was looking for something local and decided to try this place. The service is great, Hostess, Server, and all staff were friendly and attentive. I had the Cilantro Chicken Enchiladas and they were great. They had a creamy cilantro sauce with sour cream. If you want to try something a little different but with great flavor this was a good dish. I really love cornbread so decided to try their corn bread muffin. This place did not disappoint the cornbread was sweet, and moist. I really liked it. To top it off I ordered desert and had the Strawberry Crumble Cake....WOW! That was good. You could smell the strawberries when the server brought it to the table. It had a crumb like crumble in the icing and the icing was really fluffy and not too sweet but just right.
This is a great place, but there early because they are not open past 3 most days. I happened to catch them on one of their late days where they are open til 8:00. This place is worth visiting though.
The first time here with my wife niece little spot to have lunch food was amazing. There is a server there named Julie, just awesome energy all and all great places to try out
.
Oh man! This food is delicious & the atmosphere was very comfortable, welcoming and clean. The waitress Melanie M. was AMAZING. She was very polite, sweet, helpful and quick A+
My friend and I dine here frequently. This past Saturday we stopped in at 12:30 for our usual, Liver and onions, with a fried pickle appetizer. The food is always excellent here, the service not so much. Our server, Julie was absolutely amazing!! Julie smiled, addressed us with a welcome and let us know her name. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and told us about the specials, and what desserts were available when she brought the drinks. She brought out the pickles, took our order for the liver, dropped extra napkins, and checked with us on drink refills. Our food came out and she made sure not to just drop the plate and run away. She took a second to let us assess if there was anything else we might need( butter for the potatoes) and got it right back to us.
In the year that I have been eating here( at least once a week), this was the best service I’ve had. It was relatively busy, but I noticed each table she had was getting the same level of service.
I love the food at 1838, but now I love the service as well. They just need to get all their servers to demonstrate the same level of service. It makes it easier to part with my money in this economy, when the staff acts like they appreciate me coming in.
Onion rings were good, 4 out of 5 stars. Burgers and grill cheese were good but not amazing. The desserts were the best, 5 out of 5 stars. Would definitely make a special trip from San Antonio just for the desserts. Key Lime pie was delicious, and the cakes were out of this world.
Only my second time here, and it was amazing. The service was fast, everyone was so nice.
Food was GREAT. I definitely enjoyed it.
This is a classic, small-town dining experience. The chicken fried steak was very good, and they served a large portion. 1838 serves comfort food at reasonable prices.
Had lunch. Was hot and delicious ???? all with friendly service. Thank you for a great lunch..
