I go there and get their Peanut Porridge. I understand that Cheryl has been making the Peanut Porridge. Let me tell you, it is the best. It is not too sweet and you can taste bits of peanuts in it. Well done Cheryl! Keep up the great work!
Shout to all the workers the food is excellent fresh and organic. There Sorrel Punch by Veggie Tarry is 15/10!!! All there veggie tarry juices are fresh organic and very low in sugar ????! Thank you 14 parish for making my lunch breaks fantastic every week!
I’ve been a regular customer at this Jamaican restaurant for quite some time because of its convenient location, but after today’s experience, I will never go back. I ordered the BBQ jerk chicken, and right from the moment I opened the box, I noticed a strange smell. Trusting the food, I gave it a chance, but after a couple of bites, it became clear that the chicken was spoiled. The odor was terrible, and the taste confirmed it.
Now, three hours later, I’ve made my fifth trip to the bathroom and am feeling awful. This is unacceptable. I expect better quality and food safety from a place I’ve trusted for so long. It’s disappointing, and I hope they address their standards immediately.
Avoid this place if you care about your health!
Was there in person BUT ordered through Uber because of a deal they had. Stew beef looked great in person. Ordered 1 with white rice and veg the other with rice and peas. Was upset at 1st because 1 the rice and Peas was not jamaica rice and Peas and 2 because my stew beef had no "food" in it like in person(potato carrots sweet pepper etc). BUT when I tasted the meat OMG the flavor made up for everything. Can't put my finger on what it is but the flavor is so nice. The plate with white rice had a huge carrot in it but it was too tough. Again flavor was great and even the yellow rice tasted very good. And for once, a carribbean restaurant that seasons they're steamed veg. Every other restaurant makes them flavorless. Meat portion was good too. Maybe too many people don't order it that's why but I got ALOT of meat. Can't get over this great flavor tho.
The short lady with the dreads has way too much attitude to be in the service industry. Instead of communicating that the jerk chicken was going to be a longer wait, she got visibly upset when we asked for our order, after waiting 25m. They forgot to put the oxtail gravy on the rice and when we went back we were meant with more attitude. My husband didn't even receive the BBQ chicken he ordered but was golden sweet chili chicken instead. These days, the food is hit or miss. The system is a little less chaotic howeverI am not spending my money for people to be terse and attitudinal for no reason. I was a long time customer but I am not going back
I was in the mood for Jamaican food and had this spot on the list. I ordered my food online. I ordered the red snapper and the king fish. A few minutes later they called me and said they had no red snapper and no king fish. Bummer! I went with the sweet chili salmon and the whiting. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby and walked in. I was greeted and told them my name. The nice young lady grabbed my food and handed it to me and I left. When I got in I dug in and the food was very good. The salmon was very filling and the sweet chili was very good. I also enjoyed the whiting. I had a good experience and would return.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I bought the curried goat and rice & peas with steamed cabbage. I asked them not to put the gravy on the rice and they did exactly as I asked. The rice and steamed cabbage was perfectly cooked. The meat on the other hand was loaded with salt. The taste was good but it was incredible due to the high sodium content. There was more gravy than meat. I think the potential for a very good restaurant. They just need to be easy with the salt. I will definitely try another meal from there with the hopes that I can enjoy it. I rate them 3.5 at this time.
This is a great spot- the food is consistently amazing and the staff is friendly. The prices are very reasonable and you get a good amount of food. We recently moved about 30 minutes away but still make the drive as often as we can. 10/10 for sure!!
