I think that 1MR is probably the best café in East Grinstead. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and there's always something homemade and delicious on the Specials board. I particularly like the soup, but the breakfasts and cakes are excellent too.
One of the most friendly customer service experiences I've had in YEARS! When I arrived one of the waitresses offered to bring over water immediately which is really appreciated instead of having to ask for it.
Caroline one of the waitresses was an absolute joy! Really funny and friendly! the food was really nice! I had the chicken, bacon avocado sandwich on seeded bread and toasted. It was around £5 for the sandwiches. There were different bread options including gluten free which was nice. The salad and coleslaw were perfectly portioned. They were small which I like but really high quality and fresh. Top notch presentation on slate tiles too.
The £3 lemon elderflower cake was like no other cake I've tasted. It was super floral and super rich!
Pimm's was £15 for a generous jug. Did probably around 7 glasses. So good value ????????
Very nice place. The service was the best I experienced in my whole life. Not just our waitress but everyone. They were all smiling, we even joked around. It made the place feel like home.
English breakfasts as I realized are not really my thing, but the cake and the coffee was really great.
Gorgeous little cafe with excellent service. They squeezed us in very last minute for a table of 10 as another cafe had let us down. They were kind and attentive with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. There were lots of options for half of table who were vegetarian. Affordable prices. They even brought out a brownie with a candle in it as I had mentioned it was my 30th birthday brunch, thank you all so much!

Wonderful place.
Visited this delightful cafe for the first time. Very friendly staff and great food and drink at great prices. As we sat outside, it being an Autumnal chilly day, we were given blankets. Our grandchild was given equal attention much to his delight. Highly recommend a visit and will definitely be returning.
Excellent little café with friendly staff and exceptionally tasty food at very reasonable prices. Only 10 tables inside, so it can be difficult finding a space at busy times. Outdoor tables available in good weather.
Chose this place for breakfast based on positive reviews. Based on my experience the previous reviews exaggerate the quality of the experience. My double espresso was burnt, so was my partner’s latte. My eggs Benedict had substandard hollandaise sauce, the poached eggs weren’t soft and the ham was basic. The staff were nice but I wouldn’t recommend for coffee and food.
