My fiancé was visiting from Spain, and he wanted some soul food, so I decided to take him to NuNus. This wasn't my 1st time eating NuNus but it had been a long time since I had it. Ms. Patricia was very attentive to us and was very professional. The food came out quick and hot. I had the fried snapper which was seasoned and fried just how I like it. The baked beans were delicious almost as good as my mommas lol. The Mac n cheese was good too. My fiancé had the turkey legs amd he was shocked at how big they were. He also had the yams and potatoes salad and couldn't stop talking about the yams lol. Overall everything was amazing. I'm sure he will want to go again when he returns home.
Today was my first visit I had the Smothered Beef Neckbones and it was delicious! Service is good, place clean, and food reasonably priced. I will be back for sure!
We were in Fort Pierce for some family fun, and we couldn't leave without going to NuNus . The food was amazing! I had the deep fried red snapper, rice & shrimp,macaroni/cheese, and greens. The fish was fried, just right. The Mac was cheesy and flavorful. The greens were well cooked and seasoned well.
My son had fried chicken that was finger licking good. My daughter had fried catfish, candy yams, and corn bread. A must try if your in Fort Pierce
I was skeptical about ordering foods being that I had bad experiences from other restaurants in Fort Pierce. But to my surprise the food was great. The food is seasoned very well the amounts and quality of the food for the price is great. We will definitely be visiting again and also I will let friends and family know that visit us that we found us a spot.
Traveling from Charleston, SC. Love to support Black Businesses this is the one! The experience was amazing. I only saw one cashier and the owner. They still managed to get my $60 order in and out in 30 minutes. The customers was coming in like crazy and I still don't think anyone had a long wait. I wanted they FAMOUS PEACH COBBLER CHEESECAKE CONE but they just sold out in the past 5 minute prior to my arrival so we got red velvet cake. They had alot of different desserts. We enjoy our meal but pork chops was our favorite; it was cooked to perfection!!! The manager checked on us multiple times and he greeted everyone. Very customer originated, professional and pleasant.
I absolutely love soul food unfortunately this was not it for us. However, I will review on the positive side as there always is more good than bad. First, I love the name and it’s reference, a cherished honor to the family. We had two orders of the Brown Sugar Meatloaf, love the name as it definitely caught my tastebuds! The sweetness atop of the meatloaf is perfect and it keeps you coming back for another bite! Although, the density of the meatloaf is just that, way too dense, needed more flavor in the meat. It’s very heavy even for my hubby and he can eat! Mashed potatoes was nice and smooth. The yellow rice was parboiled, I’m just not a fan of parboiled as it’s more difficult to flavor and it needed more flavor. The corn was again, not flavorful, maybe boiled, buttery corn on the cob instead. The fries would’ve been great if they were cut fresh or a different type of cut. I will say the potato salad was very good AND the BAKED BEANS was the best in our order! The beans had a hint of cinnamon in it which gave it that EXTRA FLAVOR that sets them apart if you enjoy baked beans like I do. I’m bias with baked beans and potato salad as I believe I make the best, lol! Charge extra on those beans! We visited on a weekday and everything that we really wanted was sold only on Soul Food Sunday, that’s cool though. Each weekday has a different set of dishes and I love that! I would enjoy if they made dishes that did not contain pork (like the beans or collard greens). I tried the Red Velvet Cake and it was really DELICIOUS!!! I will definitely give it another try but on a Sunday!!! The prices are inexpensive and they give you plenty of food. If some of the dishes could be improved, I say charge $20 for every plate! Just because it’s in Ft. Pierce does not mean the prices should be low, raise them up. Everyone here was very nice and sociable, definitely felt like family. Can’t wait to try another dish!
This is one of my favorite places to eat in fort Pierce. Heck, in all of Florida. The food is crazy good and affordable, the staff is friendly and there’s always nice music on, usually soul or gospel, sometimes live music. The Boom Boom Shrimps are some of my favorite, and the sweet yam. But just everything is good. At NuNu’s , they know how to put the soul in soulfood!
I travel weekly from West Palm Beach to worship, and it's always a treat to fellowship at NuNu's Sweet Soul Food. From the moment you walk in, you experience the love it took for each meal, dessert, and crafty mixed drinks.
