Best WLM Reviews

First time here. My wife chose this place to celebrate or 25th wedding anniversary. My son recommended this place. First, parking is tight. There is a small lot in front but more room behind the restaurant. The atmosphere was really neat. We had a booth, and it was a bit too warm to where I began to sweat.
The food was excellent! I had the seared salmon, and the wife had chicken, cauliflower, artichoke cooked and served in a skillet. The flavor was excellent for both. The appetizer was Truffle Fries and dessert was a chocolate cake like truffle sprinkles with cocoa(?) and diced strawberries on top served warm. Delicious. Our server was excellent and has very good knowledge of the different dishes and what is served with them. We will be back again for sure. Pricing $$-$$$.
3.5 stars.
@ the barn restaurant is part of the Zen Restaurant Group; there is @ the rooftop, La Figata, Table 570, Han Asian Cusine, and Z Catering. We decided to have a late lunch here with our guest from Florida. We missed brunch by a couple of minutes, they stopped it at 3pm. The menu was vast with a ton of options. The dinner entrees were pricey, running around $30 per dish.
We got the Mac and cheese from the kids menu for my kids; they seemed to enjoy it. For my drink, I got the caramel espresso martini, which had caramel vodka, Kahlua, Bailey's chocolate, and lavazza espresso for $15, it was tasty but pricey. My entree, I had the buttermilk chicken rice bowl $16; this came with rice & beans, pico de Gallo, and avocado. The meal was good. The rice had delicious flavor and the chicken had a palatable crispy batter. We also had the Parmesan truffle fries which were decent.
Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals and drinks. The service was okay, kind of slow, since our waitress had a bunch of patrons sit in her section all at once. I won't fault her for that, she was trying her best. The patio was a great spot to sit on a warm autumn afternoon. The building was pretty cool looking, it did look like a barn. Overall, prices were on the high side and the food was average to slightly above average. However, my family and I would return, more so for lunch and brunch.
Exceptional steak and the best mashed potatoes I've had ever. The clam chowder soup is not traditional, but it is very good and I like their take on it. I look forward to my next visit.
Maybe it was just what I ordered... the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich - but it was pretty bland- no flavor. I was with a party of 6 and I think only 2 enjoyed their meals. A few flies in the dining room- saw another reviewer mention them as well so that brought the atmosphere down- otherwise the atmosphere was decent. Our waitress was top notch though. VERY knowledgeable and professional. Probably won't return ????
Such a fantastic experience. Everything was incredibly delicious. Thanks for making my first experience with mussels a memorable one! Got the crab stuffed haddock as my main course and every single component was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
Lost count of the number of flies after we reached 15. I can’t imagine the condition of the kitchen with so many bugs in the main dining area. The restaurant offered no solution and blamed the color of the lights in our section for the issue. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area unless their name is Kermit the Frog.
This is my top 2 places in CT, #1 is different food, I'm Mexican so I like intense flavors... this place is amazing, all of the appetizers are worth it: pork belly, sword fish, and oysters are amazing, they have happy hour deals!... love the 2 bartenders...Patrick and Angeline are soooooo nice, and they make best cocktails on the area! Don't miss this place, I definitely recommend ????
I came here for dinner with my husband on a Friday night. We had made reservations and am so glad we did, the place was packed for dinner time!
We sat outside and enjoyed a few happy hour apps before ordering dinner, the tacos are an amazing deal. The kabobs were alright, but a bit small for the price. The dinner menu is interesting, with a mix of Mexican and then American steakhouse dishes. I wouldn't personally call this restaurant fine dining, but the food was good.
Our waitress checked on us frequently and was very friendly.
I'd recommend a stop in. I wouldn't expect a fine dining restaurant if you do, but a good place with good food none the less.
