Best WLM Reviews
Like others I let the bad reviews deter me from checking this place out sooner which was huge mistake. The service was slow but the servers were definitely trying their best. I have to shoutout the support staff stepping in too trying to help out. Particularly the security guard Jevar went above and beyond making sure we were up to date on the status of our order even got us our pitcher for mimosas. I had the skillet and crab legs. The food was pretty good I just would have added a tad more seasoning especially for the crab legs they needed that good ol’ Louisiana Crawfish and shrimp boil seasoning. You can’t beat bottomless mimosas for $10 especially when they are giving what needs to be given! They actually wound up switching back to the brunch buffet because the kitchen was backed up and all of the options looked delicious. The DJ was definitely a vibe and the icing on the cake for anyone looking for a “black brunch spot”. I’d definitely come back again this place has a lot of potential. I’d also consider renting this as a venue space it’s very spacious and I love the swings. Check it out for yourself cause I was pleasantly surprised! I’d also recommend getting there early. There wasn’t a wait but just in case the kitchen gets backed up.
For the most part, I had a very positive experience, here. A few of the pictures I included in this group are of vacant buildings that are immediately adjacent or they are facing the actual establishment. I just want to give viewers a bird's eye view of what the total experience will be like for them. Now, as far as my service in this location: Taisha (sp?) was my server for the afternoon. One of my sisters received a recognition from an organization she was involved with recently and we went there to have lunch and to celebrate her accomplishment. Overall, Tyesha did a very fine job helping us. She was a tad slow, though, but that's to be expected considering the fact that she was working the bar, working tables, and doing a zillion other things trying to service several people all at the same time, all by her lonesome. What does that mean? Well, it means that they are probably short-staffed and need to hire more servers, or because it's such a new establishment, they probably can't afford more than one server at the moment. They have a very nice menu of food items to choose from. As you'll see from my photos, all of us had very different meals. Since I became a pescatarian this year, as of January 1st 2019, I was pleased to be able to get a meal that had fish. I ordered some fish fillets with fries. And for $12, I received a huge plate of food! There were three full size fish fillets and a plate full of hot, fresh seasoned french fries. The bonus items included cut onions and sliced pickles. Awesomeness! Two of my sisters had two kinds of chicken wings: one had what appeared to be honey barbecue wings and the other had hot wings. I forgot what my mother had! LOL... But, there was another woman with us who's a friend of the family. She ordered some dish that was a seafood platter / Seafood sampler of sorts. It had crab legs, a Lobster Claw, two or three kinds of chopped sausages, potatoes and maybe something else. All of these items were steamed together in a huge bag! And for those who love Seafood, I have to tell you that this will definitely be a dish you should consider! Unfortunately, I only thought to get a picture of it after she had already begun eating most of it. Also, the decor of the restaurant is pretty unique. Many of the bar seats are actually swings that hang from the ceiling! I haven't seen that anywhere, yet. If for nothing else, you should absolutely go there just to experience the bar seats. They also have frozen drinks! And for me, I love strawberry daiquiris. Since I'm a bit of a lightweight alcoholic Drinker, and I prefer the sweeter things, I was pleased to see that they had a variety of drinks from which to choose. My only criticism is that the parking situation on their lot is a bit odd and ambiguous. This is one of the reasons why I'm only giving them four stars. When one arrives at the establishment for the first time, it's clear that the vehicles are all on an angle. That would suggest that one should enter the parking lot from the opposite side of the building. However, there is no entrance or exit from the parking lot on the opposite side of the building. As a result of this, it's very difficult to leave out of the space. We were very lucky when we got there because it wasn't very crowded that day. And even though there were several people there, we still had enough space on the parking lot to get out. However, I would imagine that on busier days, if they have those, it's probably a nightmare to leave that place considering the angles that they require the vehicles to be parked at. This needs to change! Also, the men's restroom needs to be updated or fixed. The stalls don't have doors! So, for a man who wishes to go in there and sit on the throne, he will have no privacy whatsoever. This is problematic! That, too, needs to change. And even though the restaurant is in the downtown St Louis area, essentially in the hood, and while there are vacant buildings around and near the establishment, please don't let that deter you from what would essentially be a very positive experience!
Very nice place and atmosphere. Beautiful. Was there for my cousin's engagement party. I ordered wings of course but i ordered hot and ended up with one of my cousins sweet wings. I was hungry and kept eating them. They were good. My man couldn't get jumbo shrimp because they ran out and they took forever with his food. They gave him 12 regular shrimp in place of the 6 jumbo shrimp which they asked first. My food was so bomb. The fries were seasoned to perfection and since its only 4 wings and fries its perfect for me to eat it all with no left overs for only$6. Most definitely will be going back for wings and to try their crab legs and brunch.
It was jam packed, it was a vibe, it was ghetto fabulous. I would say the appropriate age range is 30-35 and under. It's $40 to enter with bottomless mimosas. The food was good and it's a buffet of options from breakfast to lunch. The bottomless mimosas - eh. My favorite part was when the waitress refused to serve us because we didn't tip her everytime she came to the table. That was cute.
Went with some friends & it was well worth the $20 all you can eat brunch along with omelets made to order from 11-4pm! Andrea was our server 4 the $10 bottomless mimosas very efficient and great attitude we really loved her! She answered all our questions that we asked about the specials on different days of the week....Nice Atmosphere we'll be back????
Very pricey $40.00 for unlimited mimosas and buffet it was a $25.00 option which I should have chosen but anyway
Food selection was great
Catfish Salmon fried chicken shrimp and grits eggs macaroni green beans fresh fruit just to name a few it was abundant assortment of good things, my only problem is the loud trap music and it was a night club scene at 11 am , young kids 21 and over dressed for the night time smoking hookah . It is NOT FAMILY friendly
I understand it’s a bar / restaurant but it’s mostly just a bar .
It’s is a nice looking venue but ….. atmosphere is off for brunch for ME you might like it though
This was our 1st time attending the Sunday Brunch for our annual end of the year gathering.
Overall the food was delicious and those who prepared the food were super friendly and accommodating. I recognized some of them from other venues so I was confident that the food was going to be tasty...and it was! ????
On the other hand, none of us were prepared for explicit music for a Sunday Brunch and the incredible volume. The volume of the music negatively impact our ability to enjoy each other's company because we simply couldn't engage in meaningful conversation due to inability to hear each other over the music.
Due to paying at the door upon arrival and with a card/card reader, I wasn't given the option of cash back in order to tip my server.
Once I was seated, I sat for nearly 20 min with my food before someone came for my drink order. I requested the Bottomless Mimosas and water. My server returned with a to-go cup of water and straw. No Mimosas.
I went to the bar to request a Mimosas and was asked where was the initial pitcher. I replied stating I didn't received one which why I was there requesting whatever I was to receive. I was then instructed by the bartender that "she" was going to bring it to me. When I inquired who "she" was, I was my server...and I replied stating that I told my server what I wanted and she didn't fulfill my request so again, that's why I was there. Out of my irritation, I went to my seat to complete my meal.
Eventually, I was brought my pitcher of Mimosas but had to solicit the individual who was at the door accepting payments from new patrons to request a refill for Mimosas. I also had to gain request a Pitcher of water to refill my to-go as I awaited the 1st Pitcher of Mimosas.
Needless to say, I'm not terribly disappointed I didn't have cash to leave a tip.
I must say, I did enjoy when many of the patrons left and the DJ played less vulgar and explicit language music. He even participated in a slide with the patrons which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Based off our experienced, we agreed that perhaps we wouldn't visit this venue for a Sunday Brunch because it wasn't the atmosphere or "vibe" we were anticipating. It caters to a particular demographic and the niche works.
Without being offensive but in an effort to authentically describe the atmosphere I experienced:
An upscale after the club, all you can eat I-HOP with drinks, hookah, and a DJ.
The shrimp & grits with endless mimosas. They also use many different types of juice for the mimosas which was different but nice.
